I give up on online dating.
There are just not enough black men registered on the German sites.
I think I counted 4 on the last one I was active on.
I was only attracted to one of them (the guy who complimented me but obviously wasn't really that interested in the end).

Ches suggested "blackpeoplemeet.com".
Turned out that:

1. all the interesting guys are located in the South of Germany (no surprise, it's where they have Army posts) which is 5 driving hours away.

2. It's not free. I decided to pay for a month to test it, so I can send and read messages.
Turned out that they don't accept German credit cards. They suggested to send money in the mail (from Germany to the US??? Yeah, right!) or use Western Union (expensive!)

If you met the right man, would you be willing to relocate? I have two friends who met their husbands online and both of the men were across the US. They carried on long distance relationships for about a year, then both men made their way to California to continue the relationship (both ended up married for 10+ years now!). I know it's not ideal, and it's a lot harder, but I've seen it work a few times. Just something to consider. Whichever route you go, I hope you end up finding someone who makes you happy and treats you well. :heart:

I feel the same about online in the UK but for very different reasons. Just very difficult to even get a conversation going let alone a date.

 

I wasn't willing to move for my last relationship, but I think it's because I knew that we were absolutely not compatible.
Just took me some time to face it and act on it.
But I already had a man in my past who I would have followed everywhere.
So you never know, if I meet someone like that again, everything is possible.

On the Black Planet site I saw a lot of German women on the members section for Germany. I wonder why they put their info on a site they will not make the effort to contact the Black men in either Germany or the US? Wished they just put Flirt if they don't want to contact. On the club that are specific for German women they join but don't put anything on the forums there.

 

So I'm on an online dating site targeted specifically to those who wish to date black men or women. I get a flirt from a white guy. I thanked him for his interest, but said I was on that particular site for a reason. He writes back and says "Read through your profile, guess I missed the reason. Fill me in please." I said "The site is called Blackpeoplemeet. I prefer to date black men."

I thought that was as goofy as it got, but I just now read his reply "I am very large if that's what you're looking for. I also love to please. Give me a try."

It's amazing how small the world is sometimes.
I have been at that rock concert Wednesday which was amazing.
Right at the entrance I saw a guy that looked familiar.
Turned out he was a guy I had contact with on one of the dating sites.
He is tall (about 6"2), got tattoos (I love it!) and we obviously like the same kind of music.
Only one catch to it....he isn't black.
Don't know if I can really "go back" to dating white guys

 

Something similar happened to me a few days ago. I was in a nearby Target and I saw a woman who I recognized from OKCupid and another site that I messaged with a few times. I don't if she recognized me but I wasn't exactly sure what, if anything I should say.

 

I was waaaayyyy too curious not to say anything.
I followed him a little and then when he stopped, I approached him and said "I'm sorry, but I have to ask you, do you call yourself xy"?
He was totally puzzled and obviously didn't recognize me right away (I wore my hair differently).
Since he wasn't alone, I wished him a nice evening and kept it moving.
We had email contact after that and he said that his company was the wife of a friend and they went as a group.
He said he felt sorry that he didn't buy me a drink or something, that he was just too surprised by my approach.
He said he would love to go for coffe or something to make it up to me.
