Hey, all. So I am flying to mmet a good friend is California the end of this month, then DRIVING back to Florida with her. We plan on making taking about two weeks to return. We will be stopping in Santa Barbara, CA, Sedona, AZ, Scottsdale, AZ, Albuquerque, NM, Santa Fe, NM, San Antonio, TX, somewhere else is TX (?), New Orleans, Panhandle area of Florida, Naples, FL, then home.
If anyone out there knows these places and has recommendations as to where I might like to stay, PLEASE send me your suggestions.
    Thank you. Thank you.

I've only driven there once(from miami to houston). I imagine you will be taking I-10 to I-95
maybe I-20 in LA. I only stopped at LA for a meal. LA looks like a nice state.

I only have driver advice. Don't drive much at night. I-10 is poorly lighted in certain sections. I had to follow other cars. I did this in two days. I do not recommend you do that.

Your travel itinerary is good. You and your friend will have a lot to see in this country on the road. I had never been West(well the farthest west I have been was Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Tampa-St. Pete. I agree with Archangel about I-10 and night driving, things can just jump out at you during that time so please be alert if you do.

Thanks, Gorath. As I told Arch, we plan on being careful. Driving mostly during the day. I've been to CA many times, but always wanted to drive across if I had the time.

One more thing. Always keep the following with you on a road trip.
    1. Flashlight and batteries. Light is your life.
    2. Layers(a hoodie or jacket).
    3. Water(carry as much bottled water as you can).
    4. A well stocked first aid kit.
    5. Emergency food(beef jerky, cheese or peanut butter crackers, mixed nuts, granola bars, raisins or GORP(granola, oatmeal, raisins and peanuts).
    6. A knife for personal protection.
    7. A phone with a good area of coverage in case of emergencies.
    8. A pair of woolen blankets.
    9. An I-POD full of your favorite music and batteries for it.
    10. Camera(s).

Those are things I would consider in that situation. Have fun!

Lust?lol Oh, you mean list. I also suggest unabridged audiobook(s). Audiobooks make great travel companions, too.

LOL!! Unfortunately, I've used my LUST as a guide too often which got me into trouble. Think I'll use the LIST on this trip....
    Thanks again.
