Wonder Woman Cancelled Pilot 2011 After viewing this episode, I'm glad they've shelved it. I understand that they opted to go for a more modernized approach to the story of Wonder Woman, but I think it's poorly executed and the episodes ahead would more than likely be a shoddy mess that's hard to put together. Wonder Woman 2011
Well they are going to try again with Amazon. I didn't like this version. too girly girl. I wanted her to be more seasoned.
She seems seasoned enough in this pilot, since she's shown to be proficient and not clumsy in her sense of direction. I never saw anything relating to Amazon, and honestly, I'm not too big on live action superhero shows. Never cared for Smallville, Arrow, or any of them. The last time I enjoyed a superhero live action show was Adam West's Batman, The Incredible Hulk and George Reeve's Superman shows.
You're crazy Smallville was the shit fam. I'll admit it lasted way too many seasons but incredibly enjoyable. Arrow started off promising but the duty to his dead dad after five years is wearing thin as fuck. The SHIELD trailers look pretty cool so let's hope that turns out better. At this point they should shelve the superhero thing for awhile and try other shit. Maybe even a Star Trek or Star Wars tv show. But the superhero thing is getting done to death right now.
I think superhero stories are better told on the big screen with the requisite budget. And Wonder Woman was never among my favorites in the DC Universe (if I can actually say I have one).
I've considered such types of shows are best left up to animation, where it's a lot more believable. I know Smallville garnered a great deal of praise, but it didn't really capture my interest at all. I was more stuck on animated superhero shows myself. I would have to disagree a bit on that. Even with a big budget, without convincing special effects, it doesn't translate all too well, unless you're talking about superheroes who do not possess superpowers. But when that is prone to becoming a colossal fuck up. I am more partial towards DC Universe, mainly because of the iconic characters and story arcs which are much more compelling, but I think Marvel's characters come off as more "likely" and "relate-able."
No, she sounded like she was in her 20's in that episode. Also, did you honestly miss lois and clark and flash? Those were pretty good live actions at the time. I also agree about smallville sucking. I haven't watched the green arrow but not interested.
It was an era where DC was competing against DC. You'll never see that again. It is hard to say anything good about the new batman cartoon when Young Justice out ranked it completely.
Yeah it is. Especially for not using any of his more well known rouges gallery. The first couple of episodes were okay, but once they did the intial episode with the League of Assassins things went up a level. I'm curious to see if they turn it into Batman & the Outsiders, since they've made Katanna part of his "family" and with Metamorpho being introduced, could we be seeing Black Lightning, Geo-Force or Halo showing up as well in the future?
I purposely missed Lois and Clark since that's really cheesy. And The Flash TV show? Errr...never really had it advertised much. And if it did come on...it was too early.
The Flash was cancelled just when the writing was getting better. They had villains like Captain Cold, The Mirror Master(played by David Cassidy), The Trickster(played effortlessly by Mark Hamill). They didn't have Gorilla Grodd. And even an Central City's first costumed hero called The Nightshade(played by actor Jason Bernard from V, V: The Final Battle, All Of Me with Steve Martin and Lily Tomlin and Liar, Liar, his last film before he died. He played the judge in that film). The show is on DVD now. Lois & Clark was okay as a romantic adventure show, but I thought the Superman costume was too dark and the cape too thin. Dean Cain could've had a little more muscle. I mean Hourman had a lot of muscle.
I remember talking to someone about Smallville in a comic book shop. We all agreed that the show would be over if Clark/ Kal-El does one of two things, or both. Learn to fly or wear the suit. But instead, he wore clothing that would be representative of the suit; a dark denim jacket, red t-shirt and dark denim jeans. Even Arthur Curry/Aqua-Man wore green denim pants and an orange shirt. I thought Smallville , at first was going to be your typical teenage angst program. But, this was about Clark learning more about who he is from Jonathan and Martha Kent and the spirit of Jor-El. And like kids, he is trying to find his own way. They did a better job on this show than anything on the WB/ CW.
So...the script for the recently released The Wolverine originally had Logan wearing a costume very close to what he wears in the comics, but the idea was dropped at the last minute. Here's a peek of the costume design that would have been used had they stuck with that idea.
