Rather curious for comparative purposes as to what the cost of living is where we, individually, are.

    Location: Los Angeles, CA
    Currency: American dollar

    Median home price: $395,000
    A carton of milk: $3.50-$3.99
    Gallon of gas: $4.01
    Monthly transit pass: $75
Ticket to a Lakers game (good seats): $336
    Movie ticket: $12-14
A cheap date: $40 (includes two alcoholic drinks, two entrees and tip)
A pricey breakfast: $30 (eggs benedict, one mimosa and tip)

    Please share.

Pretty much the same in NY except here if you decide to drive when you go out parking is really pricey

I will give things specific to me.

    My monthly bills

    gas: $30
    water:$30
    electricity:$60
    Transit bus:$60
Mortgage is 640 but if you rent is at least 1000.

    That's pretty much it.

    Houston, TX by the way

You have to remember to adjust for inflation. This is a country where minimum wage is like 17 18 dollars???

Over in the U.S.A., it is below 10.

that's the price of the homes in the area that I live (which is why I rent). Of course that changes with each area of Victoria.

The people here in my area are mostly professional working men (think GM and up), have 2 cars, usually a housewife (most of the wives I see at school are in tennis skirts, gym wear or designer wear) who runs the home and drop the kids off at their various activities. Generally, the salary for say a Finance Manager is $57,461-136,304+, superannuation is on top of that and it includes the 4 week yearly holiday.

Cheap date in SD: $10 for two burritos and sodas with a coked out San Diego State sorority girl in PB.

You'd want to spend more though, about 180K at least. Also don't forget, salaries are lower too.

Location: NW suburb of Chicago, IL

    Median Home Price: $261,000
    Average Property Taxes: $2,761
    Median Apartment Rental: $1,150
    Median Household Income: $66,500

    Gallon of gas: $4
Gallon of milk: $3 (not on sale)
1 Ticket to the Chicago Bears (nosebleed seat - for the Vikings game): $384.17
    Movie tickets: $10.75 - $17 (IMAX 3D)

There are too many different types of restaurants around me to get any type of median price for dates and breakfasts. But it's not super cheap. I'd say a little more than Saty's.

For example, I went to one of the better pizza places in IL (called Lou Malnati's) for lunch with 6 other people (my daughter being one). We mainly all had pizza (one person had a pasta dish, and another just ate an appetizer - 2 beers were drunk and our bill was $120.

The cost of living in my town is 25.7% higher than the cost of living in Illinois and 19.7% higher than the national average.

    Lol. I hate you.

I was accounting for the alcohol (so I was thinking of some cheaper restaurants around town). You know I'm a SoCal girl through and through...always happy with a taco shop dinner for two ;)
