I want to be fair to the police. She was driving drunk and crashed into a house. They gave her the beat down after they cuffed her. http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2013/09/...at-broke-womans-face-in-violent-arrest-video/ to protect and server ladies and gentlmen to protect and serve.
That's police brutality. She was sitting calmly in the squad car and then they dragged her out, slammed her head on the trunk of the car and then wrestled her to the ground, grinding her face into the sidewalk. I don't know what prompted them to do that (if she said something - I couldn't hear it), but it didn't warrant that treatment.
Something provoked the cops, no? She was sitting there calmly when they approached her and dragged her out of the car. I'm assuming she said or did something but whatever it was (unless she threatened them with a weapon we couldn't see), their reaction was unwarranted.
That is nasty. She must've done something to provoke their response while she was intoxicated. But, most drunks in that situation usually get tazed and hogtied in the back of the squad car and taken to the drunk tank to sober up. But this is something else.
Per the video, the cops repeatedly asked her to get out of the car and she did not comply, then started to resist being handcuffed and trying to kick the officers. Not the smartest moves on her part. That being said I doubt she was a true physical threat to the cops, they could have used more restraint in subduing her.
I couldn't hear the video all that well, so I missed that. But I agree that she wasn't much of a threat to the officers.
A drunk, petite woman was no threat at all to those cops. They were heavy-handed, callous and brutal. They weren't doing their job to "serve and protect". If that's their response in that situation, they should be kicked off the force before they kill someone in a more sketchy situation. Cops should be able to deal with that kind of situation without hurting anyone. It's typical police work. If they can't get that one right, they don't belong in that line of work.
Welcome to America. Where petite drunk women are beat by cops with guns instead of then actually being police. Trust me. Some time ago was involved with a group of officer and paramedics. They wanted me to go to the ER and I didn't want to. The cops MADE me go. They didnt beat the every living crap out of me. They didnt need to. They just simply had one cop restrain each of my extremities and once they had me completely restrained they put those plastic zip ties on my wrists and made me walk to the ambulance. I was fighting against them like a mofo. There is no need for what is happening now days with the police and the amount of violence against the citizens who they are suppose to Serve and Protect. Need to change their catchy little motto to Abuse and Harass
