General Wesley Clark tells of how Middle East destabilization was planned as far back as 1991 This is a stunning 8 min video of General Wesley Clark speaking back in 2007.
General Wesley Clark. I always had the utmost respect for him. I had always wondered why we went into Iraq the second time. And now after watching this clip, I knew it was a bad idea to do it even though Iraq had nothing, absolutely nothing to do with 9/11. George Galloway was on point, too. I pray we don't go to war with Syria.
wow. that's a good find. I bet putin's thinking the same way too, another reason why I think russia isn't going to back down. This standoff could be as serious as the cuban missile crisis Obama's in a spot. Gotta stand down feller. know when to hold'em we have no legitimacy anyway, since america helped saddam use chemical weapons. Plus law and order - the U.N - is against a strike. On top of that what would it accomplish? They're going back and forth about whether it's going to accomplish anything or not... calling it a "shot across the bow" in some cases and saying they intend to turn the tides of the war in other interviews... Reminds me too much of when the bush camp was selling the first gulf war, how they kept hustling between reasons to go I think congress is gonna say no. And if obama goes in anyway, based on "hubris" or on the plan clark lays clear, this could very well be the big one  This is why I'm not much for movies . Reality is often waaaay more dramatic
People are making the wrong comparison. THe Syrian crisis has more in common with the Kroatian War and the bombing of the Serbian army to save Bosnian muslims by Bill Clinton. There is absolutely no reason at all for the U.S. to put troops on the ground in Syria. I wish this narrative would end, that bombing Syria would be starting a 'war'. Bombing Syria would have the effect of making Assad fall back and give the rebels an opportunity to press their advantage.
Being shelled is an attack, it's not war. Hezbollah fires missiles from Lebanon into northern Israel almost weekly. But it's not a war. If we don't have blood in the game on the ground, it's wrong to compare this situation to the Iraq War.
duh why go into Iraq when there are countless of other oppressive regimes that could have been as easily overthrown?
