So they finally put out a trailer. They've been teasing this remake for the longest. Nothing's sacred when it comes to movies anymore, so sooner or later someone's going to get the bright idea to remake First Blood. And Rocky. And Demolition Man. I'm still surprised no one's remade Commando yet.
fricking awesome trailer but really makes me realize this shit could be real one day and its kind of scary.
Interesting new mythical/super hero web series created by & starring rapper David Banner. No street thug/gangster lifestyle in this. Only four (2 combined into 1 sequence) short episodes produced so far. Will post more if any interest and any more segments become available. I recall a man who worked for NASA visiting my high school. He brought up the story that sort of inspired the show The Six Million Dollar Man. The crash scene that was shown did happen and the pilot did have a procedure done. Well, he doesn't run fast or can lift a ton, or see great distances. The pilot became an engineer for one of the auto companies. It is possible.
Sylvester Stallone wanted to make Rocky a musical at one time. But, Rocky was his creation. He was almost broke when he wrote the screenplay. And when the studio saw it, they loved it. But, Stallone said that he has to play Rocky Balboa. The studio gave him a small budget to make the film and it became a box office champ. Stallone made appearances on television before hitting it big in films(he even made a porno). He did a cop show for NBC called Chase(or Toma, I think). Then he did an appearance in a Woody Allen film. And then he was in a film called Capone with Ben Gazzara playing Al Capone. He was a busy guy back then. A remake for First Blood would not make it, imho. Commando, maybe if the get either Dwayne Johnson, Jason Momoa(Stargate Atlantis, The Legend Of Conan), Jason Statham, wrestler Dave Batista, or even Ray Stevenson.
Yeah, but all the ads and box covers are for a very specific looking white dude. I didn't mind that really (it's to be expected) but the voice actor they chose was what chapped my hide. If you wanted to make a grizzled middle aged Black "Shepard" (like i did) that dull, nasally voice always ruined my character.
I kind of preferred the female shepard's voice. the voice acting for the male Shepard wasn't that great and very boring.
I don't play female versions of game characters, because I always make the hero a suped up version of myself.
I like looking at that ass when I play plus I can go full lesbian with liara(win win). But yea her voice seems a bit more bad ass than the male version.
I have to give props to Saints Row 4, for having multiple different male and female character voices to chose from. When I make a black guy character in that game he actually sounds black. To be clear, my preference for playing as male versions of video game heroes really only extends to games were you can customize the look of your character. I know it sounds cheesy, but because there are so few Black male heroes in mainstream stories, I like to offset that when ever I can. I don't mind playing as a female character in other situations. As a matter of fact I was a little disappointed that they didn't have a playable female character in the up coming GTA 5.
GTA is one of those games where I think that it is perfectly fine for them to have an all white character. The last thing black people need is that kind of rep. I understand what you are saying though. I loved being louis in left 4 dead. edit: Now that I think about it. They had an all-star acting cast. It really wouldn't have killed them to bring in different voices. It is Bioware though. Look how they effed the mass effect crowd at the end.
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is set in the Hood and much of Nevada and California. You actually play as a black guy and can get him fat, keep him skinny, or beef him up. It's fairly detailed on the RPG elements. There's also a Chinese anti-hero for Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars for the Gameboy Advanced. Also, in GTAV, you play as three characters simultaneously, featuring a black dude, so it's branching out pretty well.
Marvel Studios Wants a Female-Led Superhero Film http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=108585 Most people are suggesting Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers) I think she suffers the same problem as Wonder Woman, her enemies are too lame. I personally would love to see She-Hulk. A "intelligent" Hulk would make for a lot more interesting storyline then the usual Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde stories that the original Hulk always boil down to. Other possibility I would love to see, Spider-Woman. Or if they wanted to get deep they could go with Jessica Jones (aka Mrs. Luke Cage) If they do go the predictable route and make it a Captain Marvel movie. My suggestion would be to cast Ali Larter (Heroes)
I have to admit no female super hero stands out in Marvel. For some reason, Perter Parker's clone keeps popping in. I agree with spider woman though. She is a respectable superhero. Poor miles though in the pic. his comic ended as well.
