I so agree. Friendship, as with any relationship, should be double-sided.

I just kept thinking about the relationship advice that women get about men: if the man can't make time for you in his life, he's just not that into you and you should cut your losses and move on....I just figured the same can be applied to friendships. They weren't making any time to spend together, so why should I continue trying to keep the friendships going?

I'm sorry you're going through that, too, Ches.

You just have to trust that not everyone is meant to be in your life forever, and this may indeed be the case with your friend.

I haven't seen my best friend from high school in years, but we still keep in touch via Facebook and text and it's like no time has passed. It's not a constant communication, but we do keep in touch. That's the way true friendship should be - no matter how much time has passed, you should be able to pick up where you left off, IMO. And we're still there for each other when our families are going through health crises and things like that.

    Love this...

"Our generation is impatient. We want the spark, then cloud 9, then happily ever after & we want it all instantly without ever having to fight or work for it. You can't microwave infatuation and call it love".

Thank you, Miley Cyrus, for making it seem like anything the rest of us might have done this weekend wasn't so bad after all.

Personally, I think Lance Armstrong should be able to keep all his trophies and awards. Last time I rode my bike on drugs, I ended up in the neighbor's bushes.

I feel you! I think so often we look for the good in people, that sometimes we fail to see (or sometimes blatantly ignore) red flags. I've never had an issue distancing myself from people who take, take, take...but lately I find myself putting up with a little more shit than I usually would. Time to reel myself back in! It's not always easy, but its definitely necessary.

My problem is that, due to previous deception, betrayal and other misc bs, I've become hypersensitive. So I know I often view things from a skewed perspective. To compensate, I sway too much the other direction. I'm too nice, give too many second (third, fourth....) chances. Ugh.
