"Twerk" Added to the Oxford English Dictionary

    Interesting how it usually takes a mainstream (read: white) conduit to legitimize the culture of the black lower class. When I was younger it wasn't something the lower class welcomed but perhaps that has changed?

    when twurking/twerking wasnt done by whites, it was slang

    now it's in the dictionary cuz whites are using it

    Bootylicious was coined by blacks and is in the dictionary too.

    Think of it like this, you can use "cool" and "sweet" to describe virtually anything and people would recognize it as proper English.

    Use "tight" or "fresh" to describe something and people perceive it as (ebonic) slang.

    See the double standard, all 4 of these are proper English words yet are often used out of context to describe something of interest.
