All of which could've been clarified if O had only asked:
"How exactly do you know that the purse is too expensive for me?" when she felt insulted.

Yes very true. I also saw you mention a similar example earlier, and it was a spot on suggestion.

IDK, IMO, to fore-warn that a bag is very expensive, is not nec racism.
The more I read on it, the more I am apt to think it may have been a horrible misunderstanding between both of them, coupled with a lack of English skills on the assistant... Asking her to clarify her comment, both would have been able to then better determine her motive for her comment.

    Hey whoa there.

You are now playing a race card that wasn't even in the deck before you put it there.

I don't condone trumps or <especially Paris..eeewwwwww> sickening squandering of wealth.
HAD the story been about either of the above asshats I would have said the exact same thing.
So I'd appreciate it if your keep your racist issues where they belong.
    Namely, with yourself.

Since that's where it started to begin with.

Look I dont.agree with buying anything for 38k unless I can live In it or travel in it but her defense the woman funds schools and got the first.bm voted to the.presidency. I think if she of all people wants to splurge.a.little its no big deal.

I have he props for her charity work.

And according to bliss she has said several things that lead me to believe that her heart is really in a good place.

I don't have any beefs what so ever with Oprah.

It's clear now that the story was hyped by the media into something it's not.

And yes, I agree with you on her right to buy what she wants. I'm mostly saying that 38 thou is a bit much for bag.
I find it hard to believ that people would spend more money on a bag than a lot of people will see in say, 3 years of working.

    It's a bag. A bag.

And you know people buy it. I wouldn't at all be impressed if I saw someone with a bag that cost that much. I would think they were stupid for spending that much for a bag.
But I'd also like to think that if I had the kind of money to drop 38 thou on a bag it would still be a stupid thing for me to do.
Just because you can doesn't mean you should.
And given the state of affairs around the world with so much people suffering them be prepared to be judged harshly for such a selfish action as a twat who can think of nothing but your own greed and self indulgence and basic Douchery.

And now we are back to Paris and trump.

The only people that kind of shit is going to impress are the kind of people the world would be better off without anyway.

    so in TDK's mind 1 wrong + 1 right = neutral. lol
see that's what don Imus was saying when he called some women some names but said he donated to charities to help out.

You are suppose to be doing good all the time.
Really a 38000 purse. geez. no one to blame but the idioits who bought her stuff.

I agree with APPIAH. If the man had not given that fantatic speech. It would still be Obama who? She helped but he was already on the tide to victory. Ironically, My ex's mother is a republican and oprah fan. She quit being her fan after Oprah joined Obama.:smt081

Come on let's be really fair that woman can be as greedy as most wealthy people but chooses to build schools for kids in Africa and donates to all kinds of charities here in the US. Her buying a bag for 38k isn't that big of a deal to me especially when she puts 100 times that to good use on the regular.
Truthfully I would have far less disdain for the wealthy if they adopted the same attitude. Only buy a bently when you've donated ten times as much to enriching the lives of others.

I don't see the problem with Oprah spending her money on whatever she wants.

Oprah was born poor and earned her money. Oprah has also done lots of Philanthropy. Winfrey has given over $400 million to educational causes. If she wants to treat herself and spend money on a expensive handbag fair enough.

Oprah has been a backer of Obama in Chicago political circles for over a decade. Barack's wife has been a key player in the city's black bourgeoisie for over a decade, so I think it's safe to say she has helped shape them from behind the scenes for years, as did Valerie Jarrett, the former mayor's key agent in the black community.

Conservative thinking at its finest fuck the little guys that all contributed to that rich person having all that money. Please explain to me how any CEO of a company would be the man he is without the people paid shitty minimum wage to make him money? Why should the workers of Wallmart not have a living wage so that the Walton family can continue to be some of the richest people in the world? What would the Walton family be without their employees?

I say the proletarian deserve the fruitage of their work. The only people living off of someone else are the CEOS, and execs. I have worked, and seeing how much $ I sold, and made for the company I would say I definitely will not be seeing the true fruit of my labor.

I will also say that conservative thinking at its finest is also Segregation, and Miscegenation laws. People who were pro civil rights were liberals. I have to wonder why the fuck you are on this site Paniro.

An axiom of modern conservative economic thought is the very narrow conception of who 'adds value' to the production process, who is 'producing' and thus, who is 'deserving' of the fruits of that labor. Owners of capital, who actually often play no role in production and are investors only, are somehow the people are deserving of all the benefits of said process, with actual labor being a mere input, equivalent to a raw material or other finite resource. It follows from that thinking, then, that those at the upper end of production processes are correct in keeping the maximum for themselves, regardless or they actual value of their inputs, and are free to do as they please. The people at the bottom, then, are thus worth very little.

I personally don't care about the purse, but it's a pretty ridiculous use of money.

Quite correct. That's why I'm saying it here and not calling to leave a voice mail at Ms. Winfrey's switchboard. And since when has someone's station in life stopped them from offering a point of view? Opinions are like...everyone's got one.
