I like to think I can forecast events based on insight into society and social trends. Not to pat myself on the back, but I knew that zimmerscum was going to walk, just based on the circumstances of the case and the spotlight on it. My "paranoid" side says that when media is on a case like that - a racially charged case, verdicts are engineered to send black people a message: don't even expect justice, in order to maintain the social "order"... So I'm also predicting that michael dunn will walk. You didn't think amur'ca was gonna play this "post-race" stuff forever did you? The powers that be are engineering a pivot back to the "old order," which is simply easier to manage for them economically, socially, etc. With america's enemies discredited worldwide, and the infrastructure in place such that they're not much of a threat anyway, they have no more use for the "post-race" stuff. All it now represents is a populace that might somehow unite for real change, social, economic etc. and the old way is just so much more useful and easier to control. So (provided a media spotlight is turned on the dunn verdict) he's going to walk, in order to underscore the message and ratchet up the racial tension. The media spotlight part is key. It's a clue to the intent.. But anyway, anyone care to make any other predictions? They don't have to be as grim as mine, but let's just see how good you are at forecasting (anything really) based on your insights. I also predict that hillary clinton will run for president again, and again, she's gonna lose.
hope you're right. But don't forget to add to my rep when you hear that "not guilty" verdict. Remember my caveat tho: If the media makes a big deal of the case, they're going to let him walk. The "message" is nothing if there's no media spotlight.
They're already making the wrong charges, so that the jury can say "not guilty" Michael Dunn Charged with First Degree Murder ... much in the way they failed to charge zimmerman with manslaughter, thus ensuring he would go free. Now all they have to do is plant one "fixer" in the jury...
That's totally fucked up. He is guilty of second degree murder. If the jury is not allowed to consider second degree then the outcome is obvious. Therefore I am going to add a caveat of my own...If the jury is allowed to consider second degree then he will be convicted. Although the fact that they are charging him with first degree in the first place speaks volumes.
hehehe. And let's not forget all the mysterious judge-shufflin' going on. "2nd judge leaves Michael Dunn/Jordan Davis case" http://jacksonville.com/news/crime/2013-07-02/story/2nd-judge-leaves-michael-dunnjordan-davis-case They're gettin sloppy
I predict guilty. He will be in prison. He fled the scene of the crime. I am just not sure about the first degree. the secondary degree at the very least. It is an open and shot case.
.......I predict that the world will be shaken to its core with turmoil not seen before in the year 2016........
To quote a line from a classic episode of The Outer Limits, The Man Who Was Never Born, spoken by the mutant Andro(portrayed by actor Martin Landau), "When the ambition of man is spent in preparation against himself, he is not prepared for the unforseeable..."(I think that is how the quote went). And the truth is, that we are not supposed to know anything that God has in store for this planet. The is an old Hebrew saying that goes, "A man may plan, but it is God who laughs." That is to say, that God has a say in all our lives. One can prepare for an event, but it may not be as man says it would be. One can scare themselves silly if they let it. The end is a long way off. Let's live life in the here and now.
You have any predictions for Syria? Will the war continue to spill into Lebanon? Will Assad still hold power in 2016?
I tell ya one thing: I called egypt right on the nose. I posted my prediction for the violence right here, but then deleted it because I thought it was a no-brainer. No matter how inept Morsi was, Egypt cheated itself out of a chance for democracy. Now they're back at square one, with military dictatorship a necessity because of the atmosphere there. They might as well have kept mubarak I think Assad will ultimately win a war of attrition, but he'll never be safe. -"decapitating" his regime is the only hope of the rebels and they're going to go for that. Will he be in charge in 2016? I don't think so. I don't think he'll be alive in 2016 Most likely scenario is Assad will be able claim a victory, syria will split up officially or unofficially and assad's days are numbered. A new cold war between russia and the u.s. is the baby of all this, complete with proxy war underway right now. Will there be more spillover into lebanon? suuure. Lebanon will suffer, "kurdistan" will benefit But there's a long way to go before the dust settles, so I can't presume to predict with much accuracy on this one
