Ted Nugent, the perpetually provocative hard rock guitarist, said earlier this week that black Americans should be profiled in the same manner that different breeds of dogs are considered dangerous.

Nugent made the comments on entertainer Nick Cannon's podcast. The two riffed on race for several minutes until Nugent compared recent cases of strife in race relations to "storm clouds" and dogs.

"If a Dalmatian has been biting the children in the neighborhood, I think we're going to look for a black-and-white dog," he said.

"I think that typically when you see the -- I don't even remember the term they use -- but the gangs of blacks lately that have been just been going down the downtown streets and breaking windows on cars," Nugent continued. "Over and over again, I watch the news, and here's a rape and here's a burglary and here's a murder in Chicago. Twenty-nine shot, 29 blacks shot by 29 blacks. At some point, you've gotta be afraid of black-and-white dogs if the Dalmatian is doing the biting."

The racially charged comments are nothing new from Nugent, who insists he is "anti-racist" because of his musical tributes to black musicians like Bo Diddley and Chuck Berry. Most recently, he joked that he wouldn't mind shooting residents of Los Angeles' South Central neighborhood with a machine gun from a helicopter.

The Coalition to Stop Gun violence recently started a petition to ask the National Rifle Association to remove Nugent from the organization's board of directors.

What happened to this guy? I remember Ted Nugent as a wild and wildly talented rock musician. I remembered he liked four-wheeling and bow hunting(he even opened a sporting goods shop for bow hunters). Then came guns. I remember during the 2012 election, he said he'd either be found dead or in prison if Obama won. He is now just a bag of hot air backed with anger and hate. If we could all profile each other, then we would realize how silly this all is.

It's called marketing yourself to a specific audience which will increase ticket sales, album sales and merchandise sales.

Hank Williams Jr was making a killing in 2011/2012 talking trash against Pres. Obama.

He jumped the shark in the 1980s.
Nugent tries to stay relevant by catering to a conservative audience.

Profiling JUST on skin color is stupid.

If Zimmerman for instance had gotten past Trayvon's race and noticed that Trayvon was TALKING ON THE PHONE(not really the move of someone about to bust in a house) and was carrying items from 7-11, common sense should have told him this kid wasn't about to commit a crime.

A draft dodger doesn't mind being tough when your quarry can't shoot back.

He was at the state of the union address in february, invited by some right-wing congressman. Can you imagine you or me spouting the same vitriol "suck on my ak" stuff, being invited to the state of the union address? Amazing.

"Nugent, guest of Rep. Steve Stockman (R-Tex.), embracing Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee. Unclear what the connection was, but a Politico video shows Nugent gushing to the Texas Democrat about his love of Motown funk. (“You know what the name of my tour is this year? You’re gonna love this. It’s ‘Ted Nugent 2013 Black Power.’?” “I love it,” Jackson Lee says dryly.)"

Ray Stevens had a song called Obama Nation. I guess he joined the bandwagon, too. But, I still listen to Everything Is Beautiful and listen to the message in that song. But, in Obama Nation, the message was against Obama. The video is on youtube.
