Impressive. It must be pretty big if it counts for all three books.

I'm talking about the size of the book of course. ;)

This was a good book. It made me think of God and my relationship with Him in ways I hadn't before.

It was okay. It wasn't a bad story, but it definitely had some cheesy, B-grade horror moments.

This was a solid story/book, but it lacked the excitement/edginess it needed to make it great.

Second book in a steam punk genre series that can best be described as a cross between the X-Files and the 1960's BBC Avengers TV series chronicling the adventures of Agents Wellington Books & Eliza Braun (yes their names hint at what each specializes in: he's the scientist/tech head/detective, she's the fighter/demolitions/weapons expert) in a steam punk tech turn of the century England where they investigate unusual high profile crimes & threats to the English Empire for the government run Ministry of Unusual Occurrences. A very good read & looking forward to the third installment where the two agents journey to US to assist the American version of the MUO which has recently been established.

A so-so read with an interesting concept. Jesse James Dawson belongs to a small group of international self styled "champions" who save the souls of individuals who have been foolish enough to enter into a soul exchanging bargain with a demon by challenging said demon to combat to the death by placing up their own souls as the price if they should lose the fight. Willing to give the series a chance if I can find the second book to see if it can win me over.

Another decent read that can best be described as a cross between Game of Thrones & Assassin's Creed focusing on Ash, an elder & revered member of a brotherhood of spiritual assassins known as the Roshun, who learns that he is dying from a hereditary disease that claimed the life of both his father & grandfather before him. When the son of the Holy Matriarch of the Empire of Mann, a nihilistic religious cult that has slowly been conquering many areas of the "Heart of the World" over the last 50 years since it's rise, kills a woman under a Roshun Seal of Protection, circumstances force Ash & his young apprentice Nico to under take the mission to kill the son of the Matriarch. If successful in this mission the outcome means war between the Empire of Mann & the Roshun, a war that the Roshun due to their small numbers in comparison to the entire Mann Empire cannot win.

Good book. It was a murder mystery set in St. Petersburg, Russia 1866. What looks like an open & shut case on the surface is anything but. I'm looking forward to seeing what else this author has written.

Good book. A thriller/mystery novel about a US marshal who was part of the witness relocation program who wanted to make amends for a low-life witness who brought tragedy to his new location. The ending was a bit predictable, but it was a solid, enjoyable read.

I couldn't get into this one no matter how hard I tried. I dozed off several times trying to read it, so I gave up on it.

I enjoyed it. It's not the greatest novel by any means, but it is worth reading. A nice mix of suspense, thriller, supernatural, and action. I also liked the fast pace of the story.

Good book. It's a suspense novel about an ex-football player who was just released from prison for throwing a game for a payoff from local mob-like gangsters (he was also accused of murdering someone involved in the situation). He has pretty much no prospects until an airline CEO wants to pay him for certain services. Lots of action, a psychotic detective, craziness, and a bit of romance thrown in. I will be reading more of this author's material.

A solid book. I don't read romance novels very often (it was in a big bag of random books my mother brought me), but NS does a good job with his. I like it.

Divergent trilogy by Veronica Roth. Didn't even know that this is a movie slated for 2014 release.

The Maze Runner triology by James Dashner

The Frost Chronicles by Kate Avery Ellison

All post apocalyptic teenage type books, but they are good. The romance in Divergent annoys me, but so did it in Matrix, so that's perhaps just me. It is teenage books after call.

All three franchises have great character build and pretty darn good story layout and defined idea of post apocalyptic scenario.

They are easy reads and you go through them pretty fast.

I read so much dry stuff for work, that I sometimes need this type of stuff as a switch.
TDK, I blame you as this type of books was something I didn't read until 'Gone' that you suggested. You created a monster! I think you like these.

Sorry for no images, my tablet acted weird and refused to pop up images with links that I could copy. If someone wants to do it, help?

I just finished Dan Brown's "Inferno".

It was an okay book. It was definitely not his best Robert Langdon book. Not by a long shot. I was also rather annoyed at all of the red herrings used. I feel like he didn't put his all into this book. And the red herrings were more just lazy writing.

I'd probably give it 3 out of 5 stars. It involved an interesting topic and once I got past the first 100 pages or so, it got more interesting.

However, it's no "Angels & Demons" or "The DaVinci Code".

    Oh, I love Nicholas Sparks!
I read four of his books during my three weeks in Florida.
They are easy reading for someone who usually reads German books.
Safe Haven was awesome, whereas The Best of me made me incredibly sad.
I didn't read The Rescue yet. Thanks for sharing, I'm gonna read it.

It is a book about the cultural history of erotic art with a focus on the derrière. It contains copies of a lot of paintings.

lol currently reading the Divergent trilogy we really think alike. The romance doesn't have that much presence to me. It doesn't consume the whole story like Twilight. I actually like a little romance especially in the Matrix it really added the human element vs the cold logic of the machine.
I will try out the other two as soon as I'm done with the Divergent series. Right now I'm on Insurgent.

    3 books...

Open Season by CJ Box (first in his Joe Pickett series)
Touch and Go by Lisa Gardner
The Highway by CJ Box (his latest, and not best)

I listen to audio books on my phone because I don't have a lot of reading time these days. I just happened to be trying to catch up on some of CJ Boxs' work so these are my last two, along with my favorite mystery author, Lisa Gardner. Yes, I love a good thriller. I have "The Storyteller" by Jodi Picoult, about a Nazi war criminal and the Jewish community he's in, but....I couldn't finish it, it was so boring. So yes, I fail at being overly cerebral, LMAO I write comics about my friends and co workers in my spare time, THAT'S how cerebral I am, LOL'
