But here's the thing bliss. And I'm not trying to argue with you and please keep in mind that I've not slept so I don't know how coherent this will be.

    First:
I agree with your statement that the prosecution failed Trayvon. But I don't think when you put it all together it was not an on purpose attempt to do so.
When you seep rate the facts from the emotions we have g with a past and who assigned himself watch man. He wanted to be a cop. Was taking mma and targeted Martin for no probably cause.
Just a kid walking through a neighborhood.

Now comes the more emotional aspect and upsetting conclusion
Why did Zimmerman target him. What was in his heart?
If that had been a white boy would his actions have been the same?

What was in his heart indeed.

The judge told them not to use emotion to render a verdict.

I don't think they did. Their virdict made no sense in the light of just the evidence.

And that's my take on it.

I'm hoping those in LA rioting the Walmart, liquor store and fast food restaurant, and the gang beating up a WM in Milwaukee "for Trayvon" will stop for a moment of silence for the 40 Chicago victims.

May I please add to the list & request the same for 10 victims murdered in Philly, over same weekend?
    Thank you.

When people are being shot to death because of an argument? This is why I'm torn on the whole gun issue. I see no problem owning one for protection or hunting, but when they are so readily available and get into the hands of people who don't use them responsibily....we have this.

    I can only cry.

    I don't like people either.

    But I won't shoot them.

Why do people continue to post current stats of recent murders???
Is the implication who cares if Trayvon was shot by Zimmerman because murders happen daily??

And please stop telling me how many Black men are being killed in Chicago, unless you wanna specifically discuss the horrific tragedy happening in that city daily.

Otherwise it's a diversionary tactic to diminish the tragic murder of Trayvon Martin by a neighborhood vigilante.

It's a damn shame the state prosecution team never built a narrative around the psychological impact of being followed at night by a stranger tailing you in his car, then getting out on foot to pursue you.

Even as a grown man I'm putting myself in fight mode if that ever happened to me.

When you read the jury instructions and see how much SYG played into how they were supposed to decide this case, I can see why this verdict was so screwed up.

    Wrong

AndreB, it's sad that you're suggesting people speaking out on additional concentrated murders across the country are implying, 'See? Murder is so common, why ya'll care about Trayvon?' Ridiculous!

In fact, we here are asking of our own Mayor - who continues to speak about the tragedy in Florida - when is he ALSO going to speak on 17-year-old Philadelphian Tremaine Rogers, who was shot to death during an argument. No fight - just heated words. His mother wants to know.

I think CHICAGOANS would LOVE for America and its leaders to finally DISCUSS what is happening there daily. I actually heard a prominent Leader reply to a reporter about the 50+ shootings over the 4th of July weekend, "Well, it's to be expected.....the weather, you know."
    Really?
How about calling out your AG to initiate an investigation to WTH is going on, and spur a dialogue about finding solutions. Eric Holder had the NATIONAL SPOTLIGHT on him at the NAACP dinner, yet I didn't hear any sound-bite from him about all these other murders also being "an unnecessary shooting"

So sorry, but the greatest diversionary tactic is NOT throwing a spotlight on the continuous pile-of-dead-bodies of our future young men, but the preposterous accusation that to DARE TO DO SO is only being done to try to diminish Trayvon's death.

There should have NEVER even been a trial. The moment Zimmerman disobeyed a direct order from the police to stand down, he was at fault ..... PERIOD.

You really don't want a society to allow neighborhood watch people with guns disobeying a direct police order. As a whole, you will come to regret that. The idea that he went ABOVE AND BEYOND by disobeying a direct order is the most rediculous thing I have ever heard. Its obvious those women on the jury doesn't have kids. You NEVER take a disobey order as going above and beyond.

In the military, if zimmerman had disobeyed his commanding officer and someone had gotten killed because of it, he would have been court martial BIG TIME.

I really don't understand the women who are taking his side. This would be like if she told a guy NO but he kept going anyway. I always thought women were of the notion NO means NO.

If there is one thing the Zimmerman case brought out is the hypocrosy that goes on in this country even among women.
