As for my son, of course I'd be happy that he was still alive. He's the one who has to live with his decisions, not me. You and I have spoken many times about the way I raise my kids, and I'd imagine they'll grow up with convictions similar to mine. If he chooses to believe differently and his gut instinct is to hide, that's his choice. I'll love him no less, if that's what you're getting at. He's my son...he's got my heart no matter what. I seriously doubt this guy sat behind the door and contemplated whether or not he'd be successful in a fight against the two attackers. His gut reaction was to hide. That's on him...for the rest of his life. I can appreciate that you and TDK feel differently than I, and truthfully it makes me that much more grateful for the men in my life. I'd never have to want them to step in...they'd just do it. I know it's easy to say we would or wouldn't jump in, but if it was your mother/sister/daughter/wife...I just can't imagine that you wouldn't open that door and fight for her. Adrenaline kicks in, and you might be surprised by how you respond.

You are making an assumption as well. My assumption is far more likely to happen. It only takes a few seconds to decide if you want to fight with two guys who have guns. I'm sorry but the chances of you winning in that kind of fight is very low. You could be as big as shaq and the best fighter on the planet. One bullet to the brain puts you out for good. I absolutely agree with you. But you're assuming he knew they had a gun and made his decision based on all the facts. The article said he saw his gf in a chokehold, and he called 911 and screamed for help. Didn't say he saw assailants with guns and called 911.
