I highly doubt it. Most "black" neighborhoods have other ethnicities living within and/ or near them. Every black movie I've seen had at least one non-black person in it, and normally they're apart of the main cast Every black radio station I've listened to had at least one non-black person on the crew Every black television show I've ever watched had at least one non-black person as a main cast member. I don't see how we're "so racist" if we're so tolerant of so many different ethnicities within our businesses.
Tolerance is not the same as acceptance. I hate the word to describe a person who is different from others in a group as "token." "Token" means that the person in the group is in that group because he/she is just there. Name a tv show, film(domestic or foreign), novel or comic book where a person of color is fully accepted. There aren't many here. Maybe I am wrong.
Black people can be openly prejudiced and get away with it. Can you imagine a white woman openly saying she wont date black men and the vitriol she will get? Hell even sleazy white porn stars who do not matter say they wont have sex with with blacks guys and we get brothers up in arms YET a black woman can openly say she wont date white men and its ok. The hypocrisy can sometimes nauseating
It is a good point. What do we have to show for all our tolerance. We are still treated like shit as a group and hated.
True Dark King. Black's being "racist" but have no power over thier lives. Either way Blacks are being walked upon.
Agreed. You definitely won't get a rebuttal from me. I would say more, but knowing that this is an interracial site I won't.
That is exactly right. Blacks are more racially aware or even racially sensitive, in large part due to our history in this country. The article mentions political affiliations of people polled, but fails to make mention of age groups, economic groups, etc., there are a lot of things that I'd have to know about those polled before taking this seriously. Edit: Also, as we see even here at times, from person to person, the perception of what a racist is can vary.
