Zimmerman's gun was holstered nearly behind his back under a shirt and jacket. If Zimmerman was on his back, how the hell did Trayvon allegedly SEE Zimmerman's gun, reach for it and tell George, 'you're going to die tonight"?:smt120

This chubby lying mfer is being given WAAAAYY too much benefit of the doubt by observers and IMO the jurors in the courtroom.

I also don't believe Travyon banged Zimmerman's head 25+ times on the sidewal. His head wouldn've looked like a bloody crushed melon and required several stitches, which Zimmerman did not.

I still think Zimmerman did something stupid like grab Trayvon's arm which instigated this altercation.

Shame on those of you blaming Trayvon for being murdered by this lying ass, vigilante wannabe cop.\

And if it wasn't for the 'race baiting'smdh Al Sharpton, there NEVER would have been an arrest OR a trial.

People who easily write off Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton as race baiters/race hustlers really have no clue about their civil rights history or record.

When Zimmerman got out of his car to pursue Trayvon with a loaded concealed firearm, he forfeited his right to claim self-defense.

I recognize the role played by civil disobedience and protest in securing a trial, but I also feel that sometimes Reverend Al exacerbates rather than helps a situation and often becomes the show rather than shedding helpful light on the injustice. His star power, does, however, bring media attention that likely wouldn't be brought to bear otherwise. I wasn't meaning to disparage his entire career.

I don't feel that any of Zimmerman's actions are justified, in my opinion. My complaint on the thread has been the way implicit negative assumptions about black people are being exploited by the defense counsel to lead jurors to believe that Trayvon was some sort of aggressor, despite all evidence to the contrary. It's getting traction, disturbingly, because I think it plays to latent racism in society. People are so ready to perceive black males this way even when it's not warranted, because it fits their preconceived narrative about who we are.

I wasn't referring specifically to you orejon about those who call Sharpton a race hustler, but it does seem to be common meme about him which at best is still a slur.

Does anyone know the sentencing options available to this jury??
Is it 2nd degree murder or acquittal, or can Zimmerman still be charged with manslaughter???

That's wrong. That's like saying all ww you hold in your arms have Aryan brothers in their close family relationships. That is just not so. But II get your conflict. But you can do both. And should.

So you would be ok with a man following your daughter in the middle of the night with a loaded gun just trying to see who she is? Its weird how people ignore how that could create a hostile situation as if being followed by a big stranger is no big deal.

Everyone who's defending/supporting Zimmerman keeps bringing up that BY Law he was in his right to follow & confront Trayvon Martin. Okay. What about Trayvon Martin and his rights? What rights did he have that night? How and why does Zimmerman's rights trump Martin's rights?

u r very right about that.....not all people r of evil intent. paniro might as well say women are at fault for getting rape.
anyway, like u stated or inferring u cant paint all wm as evil as paniro paint all blacks as thugs.
    that would be wm bashing.

i would advise everyone to igg paniro cause u really see who he is. this subhuman is really stating for along time that blacks r inferior to other races.
i would igg him to take away his ability to disrupt the forum

u have to remember too is that people like pan wouldnt say the stuff their saying in public because 99% of the public would shun his ass. even mark omara would say back the fuck up

He was already on the phone with the friend he didn't call her. And why should he have to run does he not have the right to stand his ground?
And if someone was following you in plain clothes would you answer his simple questions? You really baffle me my friend because unlike some of these other guys I know you're not really racist but sometimes you seem anti black like with you black people are never innocent.

I don't get this right to follow people bs. Every person damn well knows if someone like me was following a teenage white kid in their complex just like checking them out there would be zero sympathy. Even blacks would wonder wtf I was doing following some lone teenager with a loaded weapon. It really illustrates the double standards of race for those who thought racism was over.

That's the thing that's why this shit makes so much noise because no other group goes through this shit like black people do. Paniro since when do you get to kill someone and the police just take your word on it without an investigation?

exactly. im tripping on how they tried to justify gz killing tray saying well hre look like a thug, hr got suspended from school, he fought back and ect..as tho he deserved the shit but hold on zim LOOKED like a good man. hoq dare we talk bout his violent behavior. they forget that when a mobster kill another mobster or a drunk kill another drunk its still murder.
i guess for blacks and women the standards r different

I wrote a post about just that. It sickens me but I acknowledged that both attorneys are doing their job. And the obvious implications of painting Trayvon as a hoodlum when he has no police record (unlike Zimmerman) is aimed at showing him as a "thug-in-training", along with all the racial baggage implicit in that when he has nothing to actually hang your hat on in terms of actual criminal history. If they simply referred to a criminal record I wouldn't be objecting as much. But, because he has none, the argument borders on the inherently racist "well, if he isn't a criminal now, he was on his way to becoming one - just look how he behaved" line of reasoning.

I am also troubled by the civil and human rights implications for a society that says that the mere appearance of aggression removes all requirement to retreat and allows people to just open fire. There's now effectively no requirement that citizens seek to avoid violence, but are now encouraged to join an "aggressor" in pitched combat, not a formula for a peaceful, developed society. And given the country's racist history and present, this 'perception' of a threat as a defense is open to such abuse, as we are seeing here in this case.

I don't know if the prosecution has plans to bring him up on different charges in the even of an acquittal. That's an interesting idea.

As for Sharpton, raising public awareness to put the pressure on is a good thing. I'm just not a fan of him showing up everywhere to enhance his 'brand'. When I lived in St. Louis, he regularly showed up to assist in protests around black participation in public works contracting. But the appearance was as much about his then-organization as the underlying issue.

BassBarn.com is not an enclave for racists or White Nationalists - the vast majority of the community are very decent and well-reasoned whites like EasyReader" & "joc".

However, just recently some low-key, inner-racists have begun spouting off as people here have protested that Trayvon Martin got what he deserved and that any argument that Zimmerman was responsible is a black liberal racist . . . but most of BassBarn.com is balanced overall.

I have read the posts of some like-minded individuals over here who have made passionate and persuasive positions for Trayvon Martin and if any would like to join in some engaging arguments with some NRA outdoors types, then BassBarn.com is a good website to get a workout - "Menelik II" & "Big Sexy" have really been representing as have presumable white fishermen like "Krazy8" and "EasyReader"
