Southern California police officials say they've pulled three officers from street duty after a widely circulated video showed an officer fatally shooting a Rottweiler and drew numerous death threats.

Hawthorne police spokesman Lt. Scott Swain told the Daily Breeze the decision is for the officers' safety after the uniformed officer shot the dog four times on Sunday.

A cellphone video that had more than 3.7 million views on YouTube by Thursday morning shows the dog, named Max, being shot after scrambling out of a car's back seat through a window and lunging at officers who had handcuffed its master.

The dog's owner, Leon Rosby, says police needlessly killed his dog. His lawyer, Michael Gulden, said Rosby's complaint will be added to an existing lawsuit Rosby has against police.

Screw that noise. They don't need protection. They the big bad popos with the big bad guns.

Those Cops are stupid, and I am glad they are off the street. With cops depending on dogs to do their job, you have to wonder were they get the audacity to pull some shit like that.

Because they had no respect for the man in their cuffs, they'd surely have no respect for his dog.
In another story I saw, a cop who shot a man's beloved dog in a mistaken (identity) home raid told the grief-stricken man, 'you can get another one.'

I don't give a fuck about some neg reps, people (white people in particular) are only enraged because an dog was killed. All of this falls on the dumbass mans shoulders for harrassing cops while they were doing there job. In the heat of the moment you would shoot the dog too for charging at you. (Any sudden movement from an angry dog looks like an attack)

I ask of you, if you were standing with your child and an angry dog approached y'all and you had the choice of mace, stun gun, or a pistol, what would you use honestly?

 

Exactly, they are still being paid, they still have their pension. Its laughable if you think this move hurst them anyway.

 

Get a clue. Do you even KNOW how many times cops shoot dogs and it's caught on tape and didn't garner the national attention.

What was so outrageous here was, yet again, a man was simply exercising his Right, not any different than many others around him, to record the police from a distance. REMEMBER, the arrest came BEFORE the shooting. Tell me that arrest shit didn't piss you off.

Tell me that Black people didn't care he was arrested for basically NOTHING, then they shot his beautiful dog in cold blood, while he begged them repeatedly "PLEEASE DON'T SHOOT MY DOG!"

You're not giving Black people credit when you only give White people credit with being offended by this. Guess in your eyes, BP just DGAF.

 

Dude, when did freedom of speech become harassment? this is the United States. not Russia. You get to type and say what you want and the police should not arrest you because of that.

A more decent solution from a black cop. Mind you, that dog deserved to be shot for real.

 

This has nothing to do with freedom of speech, blabber mouth wasn't content just standing back quietly recording the investigation like everyone else but instead was hell bent on impeding the investigation screaming at them in stereotypical rachet behavior.
