One could argue that if Trayvon had NOT been black, Zimmerman wouldn't have followed him, or even noticed him. And the media attention came because initially they weren't even going to charge zimmerman. That's also where race came in.

He'll walk, or if he's found guilty of manslaughter, he'll get no time at all. More than likely he'll walk and then there'll be a civil suit.

 

You absolutely could argue that. But now that the case has started, it's evident that both sides used race in some way. This isn't just a one sided affair, as the media portrayed it.

No one "used" race. Zimmerman used a gun.

It's not about race and both "using" race in some way. It's about justice.

It may be about race for those thousands of people who took out their credit cards and donated $75000 to zimmerman.

For decent people, it's about justice. No one should be allowed to stalk down and kill another person, even if the victim is "black male".

They didn't not charge him because of race, more likely because of SYG law. I'm sure GZ was up on the law as a Judge's son and a permit carrier, so probably why he kept saying 'self-defense' to them? If I recall, the lead detective that night wanted to charge him and the DA said 'no/cant' @ SYG.

 

Thank You!! She is getting the same ignorant assumption of being "less than" that Trayvon Martin immediately got branded with and is still being view as even after his death. The whole Zimmerman/Martin incident came about & played out to it's fatal conclusion because someone (Zimmerman) ignorantly made an assumption about another person (Martin) because of his race. One gigantic clusterfuck to illustrate just how fucked up America still is when it comes to race & race relations.

And the fact that we have allegedly educated black males on this site as well as offline who proudly subscribe to some straight up misguided & bordering on white supremacist logic in regards to their own race that they spend their time constantly focusing on nothing but the negatives & alleged inferiority of black people is in itself quite embarrassing & quite depressing to say the least. Far more embarrassing than some under educated black teen who is a result of America's, not black people's, failing public education system.

Yeah, the grief must be overwhelming for his parents. Plus to hear their son essentially being put on trial. I said this from the start like in so many cases where the victim (dead or alive) is also put on trial. SMH.

Bliss, that' straight up naive. Do you really believe that if it were a white teen killed they would've just let zimmerman off based on his own testimony of what happened?

Instead it was a "black male" and zimmerman is nonblack and the son of a judge. Those are the reasons they were going to let him walk that night, and those are the reasons they are going to let him walk in a few months (or however long the trial takes).

 

It's not naive. I'm well aware of the black victim bias... However, the FACT the lead detective WANTED to charge him and he was told he COULD not - how is that race? Just look up FL SYG laws. Pretty fucking broad. And read some of the case law examples. Some of the shooters literally got away with murder.

 

For one, the lead detective could be bending the truth now that there's a light on the whole situation.

For two, whether it's the lead detective or the DA who comes up with the excuse to let zim off, neither is going to just come out and SAY "well, I let him off because I'm in law enforcement and his father is a judge, and his victim is just a 'coon' anyway."

Is that what you're waiting for before you apply that awareness of the "black victim bias"?

It's not the law, it's how the law is applied unevenly, too often based on race, race, race.

Even the "stand your ground" law requires at minimum an investigation to see what happened. Otherwise they could just let whoever off on a whim (and their saying "I felt threatened") based on their own biases. In this case, that's exactly what they tried to do.

They didn't care who followed who, and who had a gun or not. They didn't care who disobeyed direct instruction to not confront the "suspicious" (that is, black) guy.

Trayvon found himself in mortal danger because he was black. This case has race written all over it.

 

Once again, you are speculating. There's NO evidence, at least at this point, recordings or otherwise, that link George Zimmerman to profiling a kid because he was black. What if he was hispanic? There was, in fact, a history of break ins in the neighborhood, which could've prompted Zimmerman to the confrontation. To say that Zimmerman ONLY followed him because he was black is putting in your own opinion and stating it as face. Which is what you are doing.

At your personal speculation that the cop is "bending the truth", from my recollection, the detective wrote that in the police report that very night. They were exonerated after the media said "its race, its race" why they didn't charge. (Even his parents didn't think it was race, saying their issue was solely with SYG determination). Did you look up some case laws? There are shooters who got off who are Black. In fact, Andreboba posted a story of a drug dealer who walked on SYG after he shot 2 other dealers.

All that was addressed here was that you said race ALSO was the reason the cops didn't charge GZ<--- Yes at first that was how it was felt, the cops were hammered for it...until the police report came out. The cop said he didn't buy GZ's BS story from the start.

You can speak all you want for the DA who decides, but don't speak for the cop. He showed us he wanted to book the the asshole.

And really, what BM isn't in mortal danger. 11,000 killed since Trayvon. Tragic.

this is what the young lady brought out. she felt they should have come to her and asked questions....because she say it on the first 48. hell, the name of the show and what has been said abouty investigations of murder you do it all in 48 hours before it gets cold.

 

FG I dont think they want to hear you. I saw the same thing you did. zim stated that he got on top of tray and spreaded his hands out......so why did the police and other pro's are saying differently with the fotos saying differently.

also, Mr. good did say it seem tray was on top doing MMA moves....BUT it has been confirmed in trial by a witness that ZIM has been taking MMA classes for a while 3 days a week.

I dont care how foul her grammar is ...who gives a fuck...she told and accurate story in realtion to what happened that nite AND she stated he ran. hjim running has been confirmed by other witnesses.

as for the cracker statement ...it could work in the prosecutions favor....how? if she is that nonsavvy to say that....just maybe she is telling the truth. in other words.....she giving it str8 no chaser, unsanitized. that is what we want.
