She lost a job on a TV network not her career. She still has her restaurant & catering business as well as her cook book deals, unless those have now gone bye bye. And considering how many fans & supporters she has, especially after this bullshit, that bitch ain't hurting one damn bit from losing that TV gig.

Dog the Bounty Hunter had his show cancelled and lost endorsements when he got caught using the word.

What he did was apologize and laid low, the network brought back his show when the heat died down and everybody's attention moved on.

Do you know how many real racists run businesses you like? Even worst dudes who are major execs who sleep with children over seas yet we as a society say Paula Deen is unacceptable? How tolerant of us.
Im not saying she shouldn't be punished like being suspended for a few weeks but her losing so much only encourages be people to be covert closeted racists. This woman's biggest crime os stupidity. We give murderers and drug dealers more of a pass. It just doesn't seem right.

If a business entity feels a contracted employee no longer represents their best interests in the open market, time to let that person walk.

TV chefs are a dime a dozen, Paula should know that and they're easily replaced.

When you're exposed as a racist in the private sector, occasionally there are monetary consequences.

The woman is a multi-millionaire and will probably now open a chain of restaurants all over the South and make a mint.

If Ms. Deen was that valuable a commodity on the free market, the FN wouldn't have dropped her. Obviously she needed them more than they needed her.

People get fired in television all the time. Keith Olberman and Glenn Beck had the highest rated programs on their respective networks and BOTH got canned for whatever reasons.

Never said I was a fan of hers but her situation brings to light the absurdity of shit like this. You get caught saying some dumb shit and people don't let it go. Being so focused on shit like this is what distracts from the real shit that is happening out there. I do believe she should have been punished in order to educate her and make her think twice but canceling her show adds to the polorization of this country both racially and politically. She should have been fined like they do in sports.

 

i agree with you both....the thiung people really over look in all of this is that she went further and said inferred things where she wanted to see blacks in slave outfits. she said those things just in the last two or five years.
