Here is how you are getting caught up. The crux of your argument is kryptonite is more fatal to Superman because of the radiation factor and you are saying this because you are assuming that magic operates on the same physical rules as science. As I keep pointing out magic/mysticism both in the DC & Marvel universes are treated as metaphysical/spiritual in nature which is why Superman is vulnerable to it. Magic is the opposite of science & therefore doesn't operate on the same physical rules as science. Once again magic negates Superman's normal science based invulnerability to physical harm & attack as well as a degree to mental attack. Thus someone using enchanted bullets or enchanted bladed weapons can harm or even kill Superman much the same way as a normal person can be harmed or killed by normal bullets or bladed weapons. Plain & simple. That's the point I have been making all this time. All these other things you keep throwing into the equation like his intellect & how he overcomes adversaries are non factors in how or why he is vulnerable to the effects of magic.
I'm not speaking solely on the scientific basis or level, in which you keep accusing me of so dearly. I'm speaking mainly out of the fights he's been in and his reactions to each other his weaknesses. Again, I've pointed out as to why Kryptonite is much deadlier than magic, but for some reason you're ignoring those particular factors solely because you want to [think] you have some grounds of understanding. Yes, I'm perfectly aware that magic based entities can cause harm to Superman and there were instances where he faced enemies who used such weapons and he sustained damage. BUT, and this the but you keep missing here, is that when he's going after enemies of that nature, he's not reacting in the way as though he's struggling to hold his own as magic doesn't weaken him the same way Kryptonite does. That's the point I'm making. Magic goes through his biorythmic aura, passing through his extra layer of protection, combined with his Kryptonian physiology, which can deal some damage to him. But to suggest it would sap away his powers comes off as ridiculous. Is magic damaging? Yes. Is is as damaging as him getting hit or near Kryptonite? NO! Even the writers in the Superman stories give off a practical analysis on his weakness, and if you want further proof, consider that red kryptonite isn't as deadly as green kryptonite solely because Red K is magic based, according to the writers. For some reason, you're disregarding this altogether. And yes, I'll continue to use his intelligence as another factor in a fight since he's utilized it when facing enemies of that nature.
And once again YOU are over rationalizing how much more of a threat kryptonite is over magic. I am not disregarding any of the factors you keep putting up because I'm not saying magic is more lethal than kryptonite but that it is an equal threat. YOU keep dismissing magic because you have a disdain for all things supernatural. That's why you keep focusing on the radiation factors of various kryptonites & making his intelligence a factor because this is a science vs magic thing with you, and for you science wins everytime & in everyway.
You're pulling an Iggy here and that's troubling, especially for someone who has a family of his own to tend to. Again, I'm not speaking on this because of an alleged disdain for all things supernatural, which doesn't make a lick of sense since I like playing video games and other mediums with magic users. I seriously don't know where you get it from and it's utterly juvenile to assume something like this. And you have ignored all of my posts, indicated by this one. I never thought of magic as being a pity weakness and have acknowledged that it's damaging to Superman, but not in the same potency as say Kryptonite. It's not about magic vs. science, it's a matter of potency and the effects it causes to Superman. You're missing this point completely if I'm not mistaken.
Dude. Seriously? You clearly are taking this discussion over fictional characters far more seriously than I am to compare me to Iggy over this shit. I have clearly stated my opinions & observations on the matter as well as clearly stated I have not dismissed any of your your observations yet you keep saying that I have ignored all your posts & observations. And you are basing this on what may I ask? If anyone has ignored or dismissed anyone's posts it's you, since in more than one post you have straight out said I was wrong in my observations or completely missing the point.
Your insisting that my personal observations are based purely on my "alleged disdain" over the supernatural is wrong, first and foremost. And secondly, you claim to not have ignored any of my posts, yet you seemingly do and ignored some critical statements I have made, but it looks as though you're inflating it into something grander. I've already acknowledge those points and yet you continue to go on with this. If you're not taking this seriously, then wouldn't the best response would be to not respond at all instead of us going back and forth? Again, I do think you will respond to this post.
Yes. Indeed I will respond. You win. I don't know shit. You're smarter than me. You are right I completely missed everything damn point you were making because I am a dunce. Happy? Because that seems to me the overall outcome that you want from this, especially when you choose to accuse me of making a simple comic book discussion into some more than it is. And my reason for doing that would be......????
In all seriousness, do you honestly think if I had issues with you like that in any way don't you think I would made comments or come at you in some by now like certain individuals have?
As I've said more than once to various people at various times, I have no issues with anyone else's ideological or religious views. Everyone has their views for whatever reasons in their lives & if it works for them and helps them traverse through this journey of life then so be it. I shake my head at most of the stuff that you say & do because I know you do it mostly for shock value. The only time I do take issue with what you may do are the times that you seem to be pushing your atheism a little hard on others, but I don't say anything because others usually call you on it anyway. You've always been a cool & good person in my book dude. :smt023:smt023:smt023
Is it just me or does that look like a jet pack on Anthony Mackie? Hopefully there will also be some wings with the jet pack otherwise already fucking up the Falcon....
Yeah. Quite clear if they do the wings (which I'm sure they will) it will be CGI rather than practical/physical EFX. Just remarking on the overall design of the backpack/flight harness.
The "Human Factor". Brainiac relies on straight forward machine logic. Superman can improvise & think outside the box when needed. Brainiac may have the superior intellectual mind but Superman has the superior creative mind.
