Doomsday(who is also a Kryptonian, or any Kryptonian on Earth). More important, is that Superman CANNOT and WILL NOT take a life. He does not kill. That, too, can be a weakness. Darkseid always exploited that weakness.

The Xbox One doesn't seem all that promising and the PS4 is definitely winning over gamers at a better pace.

I would have posted this on the IR Celebrity section, but I don't think it would have counted in any way, shape or form. But since we are dealing with superheroes, I thought it would be appropriate to post this on here since we're talking about Real Life superheroes.

After watching and listening to Purple Reign and Phoenix Jones, I thought back to the year 1978. In that year, Superman: The Movie came out and Christopher Reeve made us all believe a man could fly(well, only in the movies. On a interview show, a message flashed when the show came back from the commercial break that showed Christopher Reeve in costume and a message that read, "Kids don't fly. Don't try."). On the show That's Incredible, the was a black man who dressed up as Batman and he drove something that looked like the Batmobile around the city, helping people in need(like giving a man some gas to get him off the highway and to the next gas station. He even gave him money to get more gas when he got there). Then a movie called Hero At Large came out riding the cape if Superman. It starred John Ritter and Anne Archer. His Captain Avenger persona went through exactly what these superheroes are going through now. However, his identity was that of a struggling actor. Then came the show The Greatest American Hero. A great show about an ordinary guy who gets the chance to do extraordinary things. The Clint Eastwood film Bronco Billy also falls into this category. It was Eastwood's personal favorite. Then, fast forward to the 1990's to the film Blankman, the Wayans Brothers film. I guess being a superhero and doing all that a superhero does can be therapeudic, and of course, personally empowering and gratifying. They are living their dream with passion, dedication and purpose.

Dude, do I need to dig the post up where you said that magic would only "sting" Superman and basically labelled my observations on just how deadly magic is to Superman as totally off??

Compared to Kryptonite, it's not even deadly. I think it's safe to say that he's fought individuals whom are magic users or have magical properties and you know what's being neglected by those who tend to focus too much on it? His intellect. He's aware of that weakness, and he knows he has to fight individuals of that nature, so he can figure a way around it, despite being susceptible to magic.

Maybe some of these people here should don a suit and create an alliance. Look at Ra, he has an established superhero name, albeit one that would fit the Marvel universe.

When Supes and Black Atom tangled, he caught problems. Had BA focused on Supes instead of the boy (Captain Marvel), I think he would have killed him. IMO

And you have to remember that Superman has fought Captain Marvel before in a solo fight and has managed to one-up him, not just with strength, but moreso with quick thinking. As for he and Black Adam? Well, this may give you some idea..

And honestly, Black Adam wouldn't have fair so well against Superman even if he wasn't distracted. He likes to talk, which is a good way to distract himself.

Superman likes to talk too. How great of a hero is someone if he can only truly be hurt by a rare substance. This is why so many fans gave up on DC and went to Marvel

Is this the kind of shit discussed in this thread?

That's not entirely true. Not everybody jumped ship like talking about it. There are people who still value both universes for respective reasons and don't make it an either/or situation. I will admit however, that the Marvel characters tend to be closer to home, as they are individual pitted with personal follies, whereas the DC characters tend to hold a more traditional, iconic presence, and personally, I view that as more favorable because they aim to strive for something better.

It's a matter of the times. I think the Superman vs. The Elite movie pretty much established this idea that traditional superheroes like Superman are presumed to be not needed while those who are more emotional driven and clouded with flaws are more inclined to use their powers for that very purpose, however unorthodox their methods are.

They all talk too much. I think that's the way to plot the story were Supes prevail. Lol. Manchester Black did the same with his mind spasm shit. He could've made Supes a veggie. Damn talking lol (Superman vs The Elite)

Superman actually set him up, which showed that he doesn't always have to rely solely on his power to beat them. He outsmarted a group of people there, who could have handled it. But, Black wasn't nearly as strong as you want to make him out to be. Plus, thanks to Jonn Jonz, Supes actually able to withstand a lot of telepathic nuances and manipulation.
