Realiest shit you ever wrote my friend. You have to wonder at what point will people stand up for themselves because consumership is fastly reaching its end. Why are we so damn soft and even worst why are we so easily distracted by real problems that affect us.

You don't see it because you don't want to. Your defeatist attitude isn't doing you any favors. What do you expect to accomplish if you give up before you even get started? You can't live life in fear and defeat and expect to succeed in life. All that shit does is cripple a person.

Yes, the world is fucked up in many respects, and the reason it's fucked up is people's fucked up attitudes and actions. Just because there are many shitty people in this world doesn't mean that it's pointless to do the right thing or that good people don't make any kind of difference. Some good is better than none at all, and as long as we do our best to be the right kind of people regardless of the difficulties that come our way then we'll have succeeded in life. Success is about perseverance, and I refuse to give up no matter what.

I feel where you're coming from when it comes to ideals, but I wasn't talking about ideals. I was talking about my reality. I've had some hard times in my life and learned some tough lessons, but I'm stronger and better equipped to deal with whatever life throws at me as a result. Life isn't always fair or perfect, but I don't expect it to be. I choose to be happy, and no one can take that away from me.

We can't bitch about society if we aren't doing our part to make it better. We may not be able to save the world, but we can still make a difference in the lives of those we come in contact with. Even something as simple as a kind word can make all the difference in the world to a person who's never heard one.

Its not the weak its the disenfranchised that they cull. Those not fortunate enough not be born into wealth or whose talents don't fit their purposes. We shouldn't have to be rich and/or tech wizards to have the right to live.

Its not just a matter of frame of mind Tam, its the culture. We are consumerist as O pointed out and we have stopped caring about others all together. And we are fastly approaching a point where the owners of production will no longer need humans for shit. Once that happens one has to wonder what happens to the people.

The market and the owners of capital should not determine every single aspect of our lives.

People shouldn't starve and/or be homeless but that shit happens. What should happen and what does happen are worlds apart. Even technology that can help a lot of people is hoarded amongst the wealthy. They don't care because they don't have to.

Back to the OP. The response to the bullying this girl saw on the bus and how she was forced to respond when school administrators wouldn't, then subsequently blamed for bullying herself, would NOT happen where I currently live.

We've got a school for the middle and HS delinquents and there's almost zero tolerance for bullying anywhere in the local school system. The schools either try to separate the bully/victim by class scheduling and if the complaints continue principals make the executive decision to kick knucklehead kids out of school....and ship them off to another school.lol:rolleyes:

I agree with others who said crap like this happens when you have people in the field of education who are there for the paycheck and not with the goal of shaping the minds and character of young people.

An activist principle or teacher can be a pain in the ass when you're a kid, but they can also get your mind right on the road to adulthood.
