@ bolded, my sweetheart calls it (us pilfering, plundering humans) a VIRUS to the (host) Planet.

10% agree with the rest of your comment, also!

You don't have to look any further than this forum, at times, to see this behavior.

Same as when I was a kid, but is it me, or does it seem to have gotten worse?

I don't think TDK was saying that's the way it should be done, just lamenting the fact that it is what kids seem to be learning, be it from parents, friends, society or somewhere.

I'm not going to say it's exclusive to minority kids. I think society in general is heading for a bit of a breakdown that is a function of the adjustment to the end of empire. I think things will eventually hit an equilibrium point and get better gradually.

The way the school handled the situation is shameful, and IMO it makes them guilty of bullying as well. I think bullying is an issue they'd prefer to ignore, mostly because they don't want to get any more involved than they have to. Too many people get into education who have no business working with or even being around children. Like many in our society, they don't care unless it affects them directly and brush it off as someone else's problem.. Some "educators" are also bullies themselves. I'd be raising all kinds of hell if it was my child in that situation.

I don't really know what the best solution is, but I know it doesn't involve raising our children to have a victim mentality or to be ruthless assholes. To do either is to put our children at a huge disadvantage when it comes to having a happy, balanced, successful life. To do that would be to fail as parents IMO.

Our job is to love and support our children and raise them to be decent human beings. Yes, we are supposed to prepare them to handle what life will throw at them, but that doesn't mean to "toughen them up". The goal is to raise them to be the kind of people who make the world a better place. Too many parents have gotten complacent and lazy in their child-rearing, and that lack of caring and selfishness is passed on to their kids. Too much focus and emphasis is placed on money, status, possessions, etc. and not even close to enough on what is really important...our children deserve better than that. That's why people/society are as fucked up as they are.

I dealt with a lot of bullying growing up, and I know what a nightmare it can be. The constant abuse fucks you up, and it only makes matters worse when you have no one you can turn to for help, especially if you're afraid to speak up. All my mother ever had to say about it was, "Ignore them and they'll leave you alone."...yeah, that shit worked like a charm. It's bad enough having your ass kicked when jumped by a bunch of bitches, but the mental and emotional beat-down is even worse...at one point I was even suicidal. I had to learn to fight, and eventually the fuckers left me the hell alone...of course nowadays that usually gets the bullied person in trouble.

I knew after what I experienced that I didn't want my child to suffer the way I did. I have raised him to be a good person and to treat people properly, but he also knows how to stand up for himself. He's also had his own experiences with bullies and racists and violence once over the years, but he hasn't let any of it break his spirit or take away from who he is as a person.

I hope so but what will that equilibrium be? The new fiefdom, kind of like Game Of Thrones where you're either born into extreme wealth or you're born into poverty completely reliant on the whims of the wealthy with no source of upward mobility except for deception and murder. I truly truly want to believe in better than that but absolutely nothing in human nature shows me that it might possible. We kill and murder based on passing feelings, allow extraordinary suffering for minor comforts and conviences. As long as we have our ipads and reality tv who gives a fuck.

Great ideals but I don't see how they fit in this world.
I use to want figure out ways to feed everyone because it makes no sense that in a world with so much that anyone should starve to death or be food insecure but we live in a fucking country where nearly 50 MILLION are food insecure yet we fucking burn food and/or throw it away. Its sickening

and people are ok with this because now we blame the poor for being poor and the "if i ain't getting nothing for free no one should" reigns supreme. I remember a popular radio host out here un NY saying "I'd rather see my tax dollars on the fin of a cruise missile than see some poor lazy fuck get a free meal off me" that shit sums up a lot.

Most mothafuckas would spend the first 30 days realizing shelters were first come, first served

You're right but as soon as things get good for them again they will quickly forget. There are some amongst who would care and try to help, some who will condemn the homeless because they made it out why can't they, but the worst part is most will forget. They will cling to sympathetic feelings for a short time but give it two months and it will be like it never happened. Maybe its just this country but I see it so often that its hard to ignore.

Harlem? Wrong hood homie that shit is way nicer than you think. In fact there's a bunch of IR couples popping up like crazy out there because of that.

Are you really surprised? Its the era of sink or swim. Fuck the poor, if you're poor you did it to yourself. Its amazing how quickly people turn on the weak. They completely ignore the people responsible for the bad shit. Guess its easier to pick on the weak than to stand up to the corrupt. Smh

Yeah...right to euthanasia instead of playing sink or swim would be too humane
