praise them...says reverend IKE reverend ike says “If it’s that difficult for a rich man to get into heaven think how terrible it must be for a poor man to get in. He doesn’t even have a bribe for the gatekeeper.”
Begins tomorrow ..... and ALREADY, already...his lawyers are screwing up, or playing dumb, or both. Zimmerman’s Lawyers Admit Major Screw Up With jury selection beginning in the AM, and the media already swarmed and ready, I hope to GOD this trial doesn't descend into a circus-like atmosphere .. that victim Trayvon and the true facts don't get lost in it all, as has in so many high-profile trials. Praying that Justice presides for Trayvon and for his family ...................
Could he go so far as to appeal a guilty conviction on those same grounds? I would hope not, but the system is so technical, IDK. In fact, wondering if this isn't all part of the plan. How can your leading counsel get that so wrong....? Hmmm.
Yep, pretty much. He could file an appeal on that basis (a lot of defendants do just that when they file their appeals) but the problem is that it's very, very difficult to get a reversal on that ground. It would take a lot of major screw-ups by his lawyers for an appellate court to even consider reversing his conviction. That is, if he's actually convicted. Strange things happen once a jury gets involved...
Sigh, you don't know the facts. Nobody does. In fact, you really don't care about them, as you've already made up your mind about guilt.
Well we have discussed the facts as we knew them in a pretty lengthy thread when he was originally killed. So the question remains, did the facts somehow change, or have some been added or removed... IDK, but the core of this trial is, Trayvon is the only victim here. Hope that sight is never lost throughout.
I think he will not be found guilty. It is going to be difficult to prove this stuff.:smt012 I hope I am wrong because I do believe that he was using racial sterotypes to make a judgement call but it is hard to go in someone's head.
Did he shoot Trayvon? Was Trayvon armed? If the answers to those questions are yes and no respectively then keep his ass in jail, quite frankly thats all I need to know about this shit.
The only reason he wouldn't be found guilty is if justice is really blind and refuses to see it for what it is. Common sense is going to say you can't follow someone with a gun and then cry self defense. But Florida (like Texas) isn't exactly known for common sense laws. Or common sense in its legal system. There was someone there that did the very same thing and then shot someone and then said it was in self defense. Get this. Because when he approached the victim with a gun in his hand, the person approached got violent. Huh. I can't even imagine that. Getting defensive and or violent back with someone pointing a gun at you. What. A. Shock. See? No common sense.
That would be the just thing to do but we don't have a justice system we have a legal system big difference my friend.
Pissed about what? We already know how this country is. After over a year of character assassinations on TM I am almost sure there will be a biased jury that will let him walk, evidence be damed.
I see, thanks for explaining that. Speaking of the jury then, do you (or anyone) know why the Judge is seeking SIX jurors, and FOUR alternates? I know there are 6-person juries, but for a murder trial, I always thought 12 sat, plus alternates, if a judge was not issuing a verdict.
It may be a state-specific thing. Generally states have to use at least six jurors for a serious felony trial but they have more leeway as it relates to lesser offenses. And not that it's relevant to anything but...is it me or did Zimmerman gain a lot of weight over the past year or so? He doesn't even look like the same person!
