    The answer is yes people.

    Think about it.
You go on a first date. You have to pay for the whole date.
You have to plan it out.
You have to pull out her chair.
You have to hold the door for her.
and worst it isn't that you don't get sex on the first date, It is the money you burn to do this each time.

You start to understand how tom cruise isn't that crazy about the method he uses to get katie or how the chinese dating agencies tell chinese men not to take women to expensive places. Too much money and too high standard set up for you. You can't win.

That's one date! count how many dates you have had and how much money you burned.

not all women do this blah blah blah but we come across more that do than don't.

    Introduction to unappreciation.

I'm on neither team. I always try to keep my mind open and my thoughts unbiased. I just know there are some 'good' brothas out there who are unfairly prejudged based on the many 'not-so-good' ones. I've observed where women become bitter with men as a whole, and it seems that anything with a penis is equated to those bad apples.

I think the statement was made earlier that men expect that we should be appreciated solely based on having a penis. My response to that is 'no, I don't. However, I also do not expect to be condemned for it either'.

I've dated some real queens, and I've dated some slags, the next woman that I date will be appreciated based on her own merits. I hope she will give me that same opportunity.

We're not dominating anything in sports either. Who owns the teams?

I was having a conversation with one of my white friends the other day about equality in America and he pointed out that we have a black president. I replied that; while that is true, and it definitely is progress, I see the president as not much more than a trojan horse. Congress which by design is supposed to have more president than the president is heavily dominated by wealthy white men. Congress, who is supposed to represent the people, has been proven on many occasions to be more influenced by the corporations which are also run by wealthy white men. Given the wealth gap between whites and blacks in this country, black representation in positions of power in this country is extremely sparse.

Well.,. I guess except for our puppet president who's symbolization overshadows his political representation.

But, I digress.... that is a conversation for the politics section.

Point well made. I will say this though even though whites own the team people wouldn't care about the teams if the blacks weren't playing the sport.

This makes totall sense, but unfortunately the others are coming across differently Jaisee and the original post never had anything about Black men specific, just that men in general are not appreciated and my come back was women in general aren't appreciated. That womens roles are overlooked by society in general.

I gave my personal duty list on here to make some of the guys realise the hardwork involved running a family and the permanent juggle, I sort out myself last, be that dinners, new clothing, Dr appointments and pretty much anything else that comes up (I'm sure they think we have an easy ride as a woman and that we can sit on the couch and eat biscuits all day if we wanna)
I love my family, each one of them, but it's damn hard work8)
So as a woman I do not think men are under appreciated in general.

Posters like Luvsattractive are instigators and people like TDK follow blindly so that Luvsattractive women can duck out and watch his unpaid skivvy TDK carry it on and he don't have to touch a finger to a key board.

16 minutes I will never get back. I wanted to walk in her kitchen, close the cupboards and give the counters a good clean. Woman neglecting her womanly duties whilst ranting on YouTube

    Shameful

definitely can understand this...in that the duties women provide are also generally taken for granted.

I think in the broad spectrum, the key take away is that men and women in general have a hard time understanding each other. Often times, the duties and responsibilities we perform collectively goes unnoticed; rather the appreciation we'd like to receive from others left unspoken.

The point we should all try to keep in mind is we should communicate more our appreciation, observing the efforts others make and not focus so much on the displeasure and angst we feel when others don't react the way we'd like them to.

I was sitting on the floor earlier, taking all my clothes out of the bags I shoved them in, sorting through what I'd keep or not.

The roomie that makes me swoon comes in... we start talking. Somehow, the conversation leads to men/women roles. I'm not sure how we got onto the topic, but I mentioned that while women hold the fort down... most times men just think, "oh, you were sitting around doing nothing all day". He said he doesn't see it that way, can see how a woman's being super productive even as a stay at home mom.

We joked about my sister ignoring her [future] baby, to focus on her beauty routine... and then he was all, "nah, just get the baby and put it in a carrier in the bathroom". Then pretends he was straightening hair and making faces at a baby, with the baby making faces back...

I was inches away from proposing, I swear :p
