Has anyone here heard of it? It's basically similar to Intermittent Fasting. It allows you to eat your calories in an 8 hour period while using the other 16 hours to fast. It also emphasizes fasted workouts which have shown to burn excess fat.

In my opinion the guy is a little off as of late. But, having been on it for the past 3 and a half months I will say that my body feels cleaner, skin is clearer, and My muscles are much more vascular. I do disagree with his workout philosophy, but I do agree with his dieting method. Also, here is a documentary on Intermittent Fasting...

Yeah, seen it a lot on bb. Com. hey, if it works for you and you can handle it, that is great. I could never do it. I think it depends on what type of metabolism you have, most people could probably not handle it. For me, I can not work out if I have not eaten, and I have to eat about every 3 to 4 hours.

Actually, on the first website there are a significant number of studies posted on it. The documentary discusses it, and well, the world is full of studies on it. It actually seems to work well for me and many others. I can understand why you may not want to do it though. It works well for me because I workout in the morning, go to work and or school and don't normally eat until about 11, and my final meal is around 6. The rest of the time my body is processing the food and burning fat. I take in a lot of protein in my first meal, and protein actually digests throughout the day as oppose to in increments. I value your opinion though and I appreciate the comment. And I also see a lot of it at BB.com too. I wasn't aware that you frequented that website.

I was editing and then my stupid tablet shut down. The point was, I think most people could not handle it. It will depend on the individual metabolism.
There are a lot of documentaries and articles ona lot of things, but it doesn't make it a bonafide system that works for all. Therefore also an lot of article against it. It can work for a lot of people, but probably not for most. Its a bit extreme IMO, I would die if I did that. Lol. B

I think people should do whatever works for them.

I agree, I doubt it works for diabetics and so on. I think you have to have a certain body type and athletic background to pull it off. It really depends on what your goals are as well. Thanks for the input, I really appreciate it.

Can you summarize the program? I'm having trouble getting the link to work. And is the diet unusual?

I already eat much like what you described. I eat the bulk of my food before 6 pm. I could probably fast the remainder of the day if I ate something in the afternoon, which I do not. It doesnt seem to matter how I eat, I maintain or gain weight. Granted, I'm not working out and haven't for a long time & due to a knee injury that has my PT a little baffled, I won't be working out any time soon.

Sure, basically you eat within an 8 hour period. For instance, lets say I workout in the morning at 5AM. I am done by say 6AM. I shower and cook food and eat by 7. At this point I eat from 7 AM and my last meal will be at 2PM. This way it is all within an 8 hour window. As far as workouts he stresses lifting weights 3 days a week and no cardio. I actually do HIIT 3 days a week and lift weights 6 days a week. You, could probably still lift weights for your upper body even with a knee injury and at least do some crunches and core rotations 3 days a week (say maybe monday wednesday and friday?). I have got my father doing something similar and he has lost a lot of weight lowered his cholesterol and blood pressure. I think that's pretty good considering he isin his mid 60s. If the documentary link doesn't work for you let me know and I will try to find another link.

I am athletic and have always been working out, have lifted weights since the 80s. Been doing the PHAT program for a long time, not on it now due to a bad hamstring tear that won't heal.
I can't fast, and I can't work out who food. I simply have to feed my body regularly, that's just how my metabolism work., but I do know people that this works for, and very well, but most people I know that lift weights, need a constant supply of intake lol. I have food with me at all times:)

Thanks. I would have a similar routine if I worked out. I have to go at 4:45-5:00 or I won't go at all. I hate to work out. There, I said it. But once I determine to go, I keep at it for a while. But I have to work my butt off to lose even the least little bit of weight and working out makes me soooo hungry. I would probably have to make a minor adjustment and eat something before I work out because my blood sugar will sink if I don't.

I'm curious why there's no cardio? It's been hammered into our brains that cardio is what burns the fat.

Like I said. I do cardio just HIIT. There is a documentary on that as well. There is a diabetic on the site who does 10 hours instead of 8 because I think he works out with a protein shake or something.

My muscles grow incredibly fast so it works for me. Most of my life I have eaten less than I should and still I'm normally one of the bigger guys aside from the juice users. I do agree that it isn't for everyone. It seems to fit my schedule of non eating though as I mentioned I don't eat much.
