All the more reason to wear condoms. ALWAYS!

BTW, oral and genital Herpes, while similar in appearance are two completely different viruses.

Well it's not stopping anyone from cheating. I've been guilty of cheating, and I know plenty others who have cheated. Again, not saying it's right...but the shit happens all the time. If you look in the animal kingdom only 11 out of the 8 million different species on Earth keep the same mate for life. Daunting odds bruh....

Precisely why it's so important to get tested regularly, even if you're in a "monogamous" relationship. You can only account for your actions 100%, so everyone should get routinely tested IMO.

One in five of the total adolescent/adult population has genital herpes and 80% of them do not know it. That's pretty significant. I read an article that advocates assuming everyone has it unless they've tested negative for it. At least with someone who has it and informs you, you know what you're working with and can take steps to have sex safely.

I'm not a "Nigga" and I would appreciate it if you didn't call me that. In addition, I understand that you wouldn't like to live the way I do, and not only to I respect that, but I support that. To each their own.

I've read that you can't fully be aware of when the shedding happens. So, ultimately, it can be very dangerous to be with someone who has it. In regards to the population, 1 in 5 is a lot, it's actually higher for BW I believe it is 1 in 3 and with a 50% prevalence rate. When I was dating a woman would have to go through a lot of red tape to even date me. At least now I wont have to be bothered with it now that I am living in permanent single status. It's actually rather refreshing.

"up to 80% of cases of genital herpes are not recognized as such by clinicians."

It's the difference between a swab test and a blood test. For instance, a swab test can give a false negative. The blood test is the only test that will tell you whether or not you have it. Some physicians may not even swab it and eyeball it and assume it's something else. So, make sure you always get a blood test. Also, be careful where you look online, I have been told by my doctor and previous physicians in the past that if it doesn't have a ".gov" after it, consider all claims dubious.

Hugs, don't freak out Bliss, the world is still a magical place.

That's true. I wouldn't say it's dangerous. Life-threatening? Definitely not. Risky? Yes. But again, if the person who has it has taken the time to educate him/herself and their partner, and is taking medication, the risks are much lower and manageable.

I would assume that's the case with any disease. I have also read that it is something they could easily cure, but the issue is they lack the funding because they want to sell more of the "management medicine"? Not sure what it's called. In any event, not dating, keeping to myself, and making sweet sweet love to myself will always keep me clear of such worries.

But why even go through it if you don't have to. Lol knowing my luck herpes will be the virus that prevents people from getting cancer.

I didn't refer to you by that word. I said it to emphasize that I haven't, am not, and never will live like that. I didn't call you "my nigga"...and if you can't understand that...OH FRIGGIN WELL!

I understand. No one wants it if they don't have it. But I wouldn't dismiss someone who does on that basis alone.

Nor would I...by the numbers you've posted, it more probable that I've already been with a woman who had it, than it is that none of them have.
