the woman is facing a tremendous amount of hell. too much is going on for this person.

    =========================================================

Cleveland kidnap victim Michelle Knight, who may have had the most harrowing ordeal in Ariel Castro's house, slipped away today from the hospital where she has been staying since being freed from a decade of captivity, leaving her family confused and angry.

A spokeswoman for MetroHealth Hospital confirmed that Knight left the facility, but would not say where she went.

"Michelle Knight has been discharged from MetroHealth. She is asking for her privacy at this time," the hospital said in a statement.

Earlier in the day, the hospital issued a statement on Knight's behalf saying she was in "good spirits" and "extremely grateful for the outpouring of flowers and gifts."

"She asks that everyone please continue to respect her privacy at this time," the statement said. The hospital also said at the time that Knight had instructed the hospital that she did not want any visitors.

That appears to have extended to her family, who Knight hasn't seen for 10 years.

Jay Milano is a lawyer hired by Knight's mother, Barbara Knight. "She went to the hospital and tried to deliver flowers to her daughter and was told that her daughter's not keeping visitors," the lawyer said.

He said they found out that Michelle Knight had left the hospital from a news reporter.

I cannot even begin to understand or empathize what this young lady, Michelle is going through. She has been through a tremendously difficult situation, so I can imagine she is feeling extremely overwhelmed with all of the attention she is currently experiencing.

She's not ok. I hope and pray for her safety...but I don't see this ending well.

My heart would be breaking all over again if I was her mother/sister/cousin etc.

    Such an unfortunate story...

As I finished reading the article, I suppose Michelle may just want her privacy. I hope she'll be ok and has someone she can talk to or at least to look after her for a while.

Agreed. After what this woman has been through, I can certainly appreciate that she's probably not ready to re-live every detail with her family right now. It'll probably take time for her to really wrap her head around the fact that she's FREE. If I were a family member, I'd step back knowing she's finally safe, and let her breath. Baby girls been through more in the past 10 years then most people endure in a lifetime. I say give her the space to regroup and try to come to terms with where she's at now.

What theyre failing to report is that she is furious at her family for not looking for her and has outright disowned them. That's mainly why she bailed on them now.

They had thought she ran off after a child-custody-issue with her family, so since she didn't get any major TV search vigils like the other girls, the bastard would make her watch the news and taunt her.

(comment are pretty harsh on her family :( )

We need to pray for her. After all she's been through and still going through with her ordeal and her feelings toward her family, she's got a lot to recover from, so her behavior is understandable. I hope and pray she'll be okay.

awful. I totally understand her feeling this way. I can't imagine living for the past ten plus years being bullied and chastised by that monster... Very sad.

Absolutely. And beaten badly. I read that she will need reconstructive surgery to her face.
Sometimes, monsters single out one victim more-so than the others to abuse. She seemed to be the one.

The title is misleading. SHe slipped away from the media and her immediate family, it's not like she just walked out the hospital doors going nowhere.

She made arrangements to go someplace private to get away from everything which I think was smart.

The other two young women I could see doing the same thing.

I think her anger is a bit misdirected, but in all honestly, she needs to do her and be allowed to mend her own way. In time, she may be able to mend with her family. We don't know what went on there.
In suspect its easy to feel your family didn't do enough to find you in that cir instance so I don't see her reaction as odd.

Hopefully, in time she will heal enough to maybe talk to the family, in the mean time, both the family and media should allow her some space.

family means well but everyone reacts differently

some people have no problem opening up after traumatic events

others need more time and open up slower

either way man she's been through hell on earth...she's probably content and satisfied just being free again

Ten years of these young girls lives had been torn away by a monster. Family will want to know what happened during those times. They say time heals all wounds. But, these girls had lost a lot by no fault of their own. They cannot get it back. I think they have to mend in their own ways. Family support is healthy, but in this case, until they are ready, they need time alone. I pray that they all find their way back, or find another way to develop into their own persons. I think the families should not question them. Nor, should the media. Let them live in peace.
