LOL, people are divided pro and con for his behavior..... http://www.examiner.com/article/12-...y-ruffles-feathers-of-las-vegas-metro-officer 'A video where a 12-year-old calls out a cop has gone viral, but people are having mixed reactions over the incident. Gawker shared the details of the incident on May 5, and it seems everybody has an opinion on how both the young boy Jeremy and the Las Vegas police officer handled the encounter. The video was taken as Jeremy talked with the officer. Jeremy was walking near a gas station when he spotted a police officer walking back to his motorcycle. He started filming and asked the police officer, (who) was not particularly interested in chatting with him. The officer's brush-off did not slow Jeremy down, however. Next, he asked the officer for his badge number. This did not go over well with the officer, who soon fired back by asking the boy for his ID. Some commenters applaud the 12-year-old...Others think young Jeremy was acting like a bit of a punk.' [HDYT]JP_1zehE_m0[/HDYT] (I'm more with the cop on this but I did love the kid's 'ID' comeback )
I wasn't sympathizing... hey, I'm impressed that he appears to know the laws and his rights. He's been well-trained, lol! However, there are some vehicle laws that I believe on-duty cops are afforded leeway, namely parking and traffic. My assumption is the spaces to park were filled and he wanted a drink.
The way I see it, cops are afforded way too much leeway these days and are drunk off power. Hopefully their are more and more young bright children as himself who continue to stand for something.
LOL you aint lying, Goodlove ^ ^ You make a good point, I'm with you on it.... And I even get that he was just giving cops a taste of their own medicine, but he was being a bit dickish all because of a sidewalk park. Get his badge number, really? lol. Like this Detroit cop here....ok he was caught fucking up, but was the community backlash warranted?? Over reaction, IMO.
LOl. That kid was being a punk although legally he may have been right to call out the PO for parking his motorcycle on the sidewalk. Because I don't think it's an issue this kid is genuinely concerned about and because this minor can't even drive, it's annoying he would even question this cop about if he's parked legally. IMO it's no different than a punk kid being in the passenger seat telling me how to drive safely. I would have been really tempted to cuss that kid out and break his cell phone.
i'm 100 % for the kid. the cop is wrong on both accounts(first to park illegally and not give his badge #). he just made the story that much bigger.... the boy is smart andi see nothing wrong with anything he said.
Thank You, Why does a twelve year old feel that he can question an adult? Kids should stay away from adults they do not know, not question their actions. The Cop looks silly as well for entertaining the kid. I would have just ignored him soon as it was apparent that he had no ID. How much taxes does the kid pay again? Exactly
lol i remember that personally..he's a cop...paid to take a bullet if needed for the sake of his community... i wouldnt snitch on him for sleeping out of respect for that when you have events like the Boston Bombing, and witness these guys trying to save people on one end, then go out and hunt suspected terrorists on the other end...come on... people look for anything to attack cops with..but when shit breaks out, who do they run to?
I like the kid. The cop seems to be taking advantage of his position in the community, so good for the kid in turning the meeting viral.
My only thought is perhaps the bike was obstructing this kid to walk the sidewalk. In which case, fair enough. But the vid shows lots of space. And really, most 12 yr olds would be in awe of the bike and excitedly ask the cop some bike q's when he came out. Jeremy either is going to be a lawyer when he grows up or just get bopped a lot, lol. Somehow though I feel like he was super annoying dad that day and dad told him to go bother a cop :smt036
I can see that... or even a Cop, lol. Just hope the cop doesn't ever catch this kid riding his bicycle on the sidewalk. Loved this ^ whole post, man. And the reporter said he worked double shifts, never had a citizen complaint, highly regarded by fellow officers who didn't have to speak if they didn't like his character/work ethic... I would've woken him, even just to check that he hadn't passed out. But to snap and upload it to the world and eff with his livelihood like that, never. .
Man I have no problem with police officers, or any other first responders for that matter. I just hate crooked people...cops, lawyers, janitors, etc. Doesn't matter what profession it is. If you're a decent human being, you're a decent human being....if you're a scumbag, you're a scumbag. I personally wouldn't jeopardize someone's livelihood for 15 minutes of online fame. People have families, extended families, etc. Like, some shit like this could cause a person to lose their pension, after years of blood, sweat and tears. Which not only affects them, but anyone else they're responsible for. Lord knows, I've closed the door to my office for some shuteye before.
it's like people who complain about firefighters and what they do on their down time, just because THEIR job doesn't let them bullshit on the clock YOUR job doesn't leave you and your family wondering if 'today is the day' you die every time you suit up no one forces them to do the job, true, but it HAS to be done by someone give those guys a break
