Lol, this happened to my (ex)husband and I.

We went to a weekday, mid-day screening of Malcolm X in a very white neighborhood to really get into the movie. We were the ONLY ones in there which we figured as much ... Once the movie started we noticed this (black) guy walk in, walk the perimeter, cross the front, come back up to our row....
and come sit right next...to me.

I have my husband on my left and now this guy on my right. So my hubby and I look at each other like 'wtf'....so we got up and moved.

Now IDK if he was being a dick, or felt like, cool another brutha in here, but then why sit his ass right by me? He saw I was arm-locked with my husband. Made no damn sense. :smt102

i know in HS i was friendly with/talked to just about any blacks in my class, because we were always in the minority

it's like that self-segregation that you hear about

the lunchroom was very polarized too

you'd literally have blacks thick on one side, and whites thick on the other

somewhere in the middle you'd have mixing going on

and of course jocks would sit with other jocks

i usually sat with other football guys or people from who ran track

bottom line is that people tend to hang around similar types
