MIAMI BEACH, Fla., April 23 (UPI) -- A Florida woman being praised by police for turning in $36,000 she found on a golf course said her Christian faith led her to "do what's right."

Rachel Castillo, who works serving drinks to golfers at the Miami Beach Golf Course, said a customer alerted her to a bag left behind on a bench at the course Jan. 20 and she discovered the bad was filled with "stack after stack" of cash, WSVN-TV, Miami, reported Tuesday.

Castillo said she contacted police to turn over the bag, which also contained a 76-year-old man's identification.

"Easy money is not good money, you know?" Castillo said of why she turned the money in. "I was really freaking out a little bit."

"I believe in the Bible," she said. "I'm a Christian, and the Bible says, 'Do not steal, do not lie,' you know, all these things, and if you do what's right, if you live the right way, you'll be taken care of. I believe I'll be taken care of ... if you do what's right."

Police praised Castillo for handing over the money. They said they are working on returning the money to the elderly man.

More than likely it was a sting operation. Nobody just leaves $36k laying around and forgets,no matter how rich you are.

Probably so,but I'm still calling it a sting operation. Guarantee if you misplaced $36,000 you'd be tearing your fucking house and retracing every step you made you in the past 3 weeks

not when $36k is pocket change to you and you carry it in a brown paper bag... for all you know, it couldve been a ransom and he was instructed to leave the money with his ID in it...

when i moved once, i found close to $100 in bills and change that my sofa ate up.

Was Michael Jordan on the course that day. He is known to play some golf with high stakes.

But yeah its a golf course in a playground of alot of very rich people. And some of them do play golf for high stakes so it is quite possible it could have been a bet payoff of some sort though.

I would hire her in a minute. It's becoming rare to find someone you can trust.
