I have 9 years before I turn 40 and I already fear it. I spent sooo long wanting to be grown and now I want to stay young. I'm praying my feelings change and that I get better about getting older, because honestly I hate hating my age! I want to be one of those 40year olds who says its the best time of her life!

When I was 10, my favorite song was(and still is) Elton John's Philadelphia Freedom. I remembered the spirit in the song. The orchestral arrangement by Gene Page. I remember at age 10, because of this song, I couldn't wait to grow up. When I was 12, Gerry Rafferty's song Baker Street caught my attention(I later found out the song was about Sherlock Holmes). I remember then, thinking about adulthood. The things I might face down the road. I had learned that life is like that favorite song, book, movie or tv show. They have their moments. But, they are worth experiencing.

Especially when realize it been several years since you took finals or went to prom or heardthe late bell go off. High school was such a simple time.

I've been kind of down in a way about my imagination. I don't lack creativity at all, it's just the kid like imagination that is escaping more and more. I am good with numbers, and I used to be very artistic as well, I was going to be an art major in college for sh!t sake. But I barely draw, doodle, or free think on paper anymore. a movie has to be so good for me to loss myself in it like I used to. I don't necessarily feel old, but they makes me think I'm getting older.

I've been researching ways to recapture my imagination. I know I'll never get to the point were I could just take three legos pretend it was spaceship and fly around for hours, but, I'm going try darn hard to get as close as possible.

This is so cool! :smt023 I think our brain is like a muscle - if we don't use it (or parts of it), we lose the ability to do so efficiently. I would start with the artistic creativity you had. I so wish I could draw, but I could never get the hang of perspective.

Money keeps me from being creative like I would like to be. I still have the creative instinct and desire, but lack the means to execute my ideas. :(

When that imagination kicks in the creative juices start flowing, show us!!

You can start with a sheet of paper, a pencil/pen/sharpie/crayon and look at an object. The first thing you see like a child's toy, a rock, a tree, a stream, a sunset. Start small. Keep drawing and the creativity will come in time. It is never too late to learn an art form. Or anything else, for that matter.

I was an art major in college because I wanted to be an interior designer. Drawing was not my forté. I simply can't get perspective, even with all the tricks they taught us. My creative juices flow in different directions now.

Exactly, I have som any things going on in a day that have to do with work, even if I only did halp my responsibilities, I never really seem to have time for artistic creation.

I was down health wise for a while, and am rebuilding somewhat, but in this phase I'm thinking of starting other projects that allow me more freedom of time. "Disposable time," if you will.
