Very good post and point you raise FG, I think being that it is porn, people tend to be more laissez-faire about it when it comes to discriminatory practices as opposed to other fields of employment.

Lex Steele said it himself "it is one of the last remaining industries in which discrimination is openly accepted.

You and TDK hit the nail on the head that its the sex aspect that pretty much does this, given the nature of the porn industry.

I think everyone deserves a safe, bias-free workplace, regardless of what type of work they are engaged in. That being said, I don't believe anyone has the right to coerce anyone into a sex act that they don't want to engage in.

The reason they get away with it is because its considered work product right?
    Its a job not romance

This is what I said. you cant force an actress to have sex with a black guy if she doesnt want to. there are some things you just have to live with. that is one of them racist or not. regular actors...excuse me ...real actors in real movies could say racism because in bourne identity a black man could be able to play jason bourne.

porn is work, not 'sex' Still disagree w u.

BTW, if someone doesn't want to sleep w a man just based on his color... Well, that is kinda racist anyways.

i know...its racist. the point im saying is....what is he gonna do about it?. get al sharpton? do a civil rights march. I said that earlier .hell the whole industry markets toward a racial demographic....so to whine about it is like going to Mcdonalds and asking why is there so much meat? WTF

think about it....they have IR porn with names like white boys on black girls and IR gang bang. so what do you expect?

File a work place discrimmination suit. Its a denial of WORK NOT SEX based on race

And you actually think that would work? With the porn industry?

Good question. I dont know but there was a time where black cooks and doctors serving was completely inconceivable. As ridiculous as it may seem its still wrong period.

Don't get me wrong, I totally get where you're coming from on the racism aspect. But filing a discrimination suit in the porn industry would be like someone snitching in a bad gang infested neighborhood. Someone can choose to do it, but there more than likely would be some kind of negative repercussions if they did. More than likely make it even harder to get work because no one would want to work with what would be viewed as an industry "snitch".

Same thing was saod about whistle blowers because snitching meant the plant or factory would close down for a few days which meant no work for a few days weeks or months but when the employees stopped getti g treated like shit from management they were happy about it.

I personally don't think it would work in the porn industry. Both people behind & in front of the scenes are about the easy & big money, especially the actors. Easier to just go work with /be around people they know will work with them on whatever. Kind of like certain Hollywood producers/director such as Tim Burton & Joss Whedon who like working with certain actors and like using them over & over in many of their projects.

If a white person refused to act with a black person they would be fired. I fail to see why the porn industry shouldn't be like this. Lex is correct.

Honestly I don't understand how porn is legal but prostitution isn't. Porn stars are people payed to have sex the definition of a prostitute. Agents market their actors to interested bidders. That is the definition of a pimp.

Agencies pay for their services, and customers pay for their work. These people are all johns.

Yet a women is legally not allowed to sell her sexual services unless there is a camera involved, and its called porn. How does this make sense?

Wouldn't work. The performers are independent contractors.

To answer GL's question, the point of talking about racism in porn is to expose how the industry really works. If porn is going to go "mainstream," then the spotlight is also going to fall on the warts on the underbelly of the industry that nobody wants to see.

I've seen a few articles recently about the way that black performers in the industry are treated. I'm sure that more will come.
