Just completed the hunger games trilogy. Hated it. Liked the movie tho. Its just in the trilogy, all I see is a freaking impossibly whiny girl that has to be saved every other page. She can't do shit. Not sure I want to see the next movies, katniss is pissing me off. I bet I get some heat for that. Lol. And the ending, urgh. Blech. Just down loaded the first book of 'gone', better be good TDK. Lol
You won't be disappointed. There are so many rich characters and its actually a better dystopian view than the Hunger Games to me.
Just read the first book of the Paladin Prophecy It has gotten so many good reviews on Amazon since the writer wrote for the tv show Twin Peaks and the Fantastic Four. Personally I felt the book absolutely sucked, it was another book about a kid who was special and didn't know it and after finding out became a self important douche about. Stocked with the stereotypical ethnics who gave up all of their own interests and obligations risking all to protect and help a complete and total stranger. They had the classic blonde love interest with no personality who only served as a vehicle for a rescue mission. For a book with 550 pages it was a whole lot of nothing. If you're looking for a mindless read you can do better than this shit. Stay away. Buyer beware.
The kindle version was like 3 bucks, lol. U that cheap? Hahaha, I want triple my money so I can go to in and out.:smt068
I loved the Hunger games trilogy, I prefer the first book and It really reminds me of that Japanese Movie "Battle Royale" where the school kids are chucked on a Island and forced to kill each other with one victor (excellent movie if you don't mind subtitles) And yes Katniss is a whiney little moo, but she has a sense of self that is a million times better for the young to read. compared to say Bella and the Twillight series. Lol try not to be too harsh on Books that are aimed at young adults, sometimes I get impatient but then I realise I'm the one choosing to read teen fiction.
Very true about teen fiction. It's hard to distinguish the appropriateness of the stories and characters sometimes. I liked the first two books in the Hunger Game Trilogy, but I wasn't much of a fan of the last one. It got to be too much after awhile. I have been wanting to see Battle Royale for quite awhile. It's on my list. I heard it was really good.
It's been on TV here twice on channel 4, it was really late and I was about to go to bed, I'm glad I didn't it's a great movie and well worth a watch. It has GOGO in it from Kill Bill part 1. I didnt like the 2nd movie though where they brought the previous victors into it like the last Hunger games Book.
I've been reading quite a few of those self published novels on Kindle lately, but I finished an absolute gem the other day, after reading some real shite! It's Sci Fi , it's very violent and very funny and it's only £1.53p to download on amazon, it's original for a change. Three Feet of Sky by Stephen Ayres http://www.amazon.co.uk/Three-Feet-Sky-Book-One/dp/147762323X/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top I'm now halfway through the 2nd book and it's not dissapointing at all, just less violent imo.
