http://ac360.blogs.cnn.com/2012/01/...heating-investigation/?hpt=ac_bn3&hpt=op_bn10 I wonder what other professions are cheating on their exams and getting away with it
this happens on all levels SATs, other college classes u name it, there's a segment cheating hell people cheat EVERYWHERE relationships, politics
besides...in healthcare at least, we do clinical rotations during extern/intern phases of programs/majors if you cheated on exams, it would come out when you were in the field with real patients
I hate to agree with you so much in one day, but you're spot on. Some people stick out like a sore thumb during rotations. Makes everyone around them question how the heck they made it through school. It truly makes no sense to me...if you're going to put forth all this effort in to cheating (and getting away with it), why not just actually do the work? Maybe I'm too simple minded.
kinda glad hands-on training/performance is a requirement before graduation on the flip side, you have some who don't really shine during the didactic portion but are hard, competent workers in clinical and end up getting hired after school i see why internships for many majors aren't required..because many people just want that degree..but on the other hand, you see why it should be required you also see why employers generally want someone who interned somewhere, or has some freaking real experience
Their internship holds no value with me unless they interned at my work. So many people sit interns at a desk and have them do busy work. That's not the point of an internship, and it's certainly not helping that student any!! I definitely look for real experience over just internships. With that said, I've been pleasantly surprised before by some of our new grads. I've said this before but I can teach them the clinical side of nursing...I can't teach things like character, integrity, work ethic...these are really the staples I look for in candidates.
