China is a corrupt regime and no one is going to give up billions in trade to aid a country that offers them nothing. These aren't the alliances of the 60s and 70s when national ideology meant something. Its all about individual economics and they will under no circumstances stop the money flow unless directly hit. Its all about self interest. And Russia is not the USSR of old. Thats when they were a problem today they are a bigger economic threat than a militaristic one.

Question...did you know about the Asian summit they had recently...where they discussed abandoning the U.S currency all together? I mean we aren't a Banana Republic yet, but we are being treated as one. In parts of Europe, they refuse to accept US paper. Never would I have thought that would happen.

As for Russia, I too was referring to the economic pressure on China to abide, and not their militaristic dominance. Russia is not our Ally. And they'll expect China to back them if they back NK. Dude, we aren't the big-bad wolf they shake in their boots at anymore. Illogical on their part perhaps @ our military weaponry, but still....

People have been talking about giving up the dollar since the beginning of the crash as well as the euro and the reality is its incredibly unlikely. I wouldn't say its impossible but very unlikely. If they abandon the dollar then what would be their new currency and would that work in terms of trade. I think most people under estimate how reliant China is on our consumership. You could add the next 10 industrialized countries together and they wouldn't come close to the amount of Chinese shit the US consumes. Its the basis of their wealth. If the dollar is going to fall its not going to happen any time soon. I could be wrong but I dont see it. People can talk as much shit as they want but unless they plan on jumping on bitcoins or going back to a gold standard I don't see it.

lol it won't happen. We will slip from number one to number three or four economically but it will happen when you are old and gray unless the entire world aligns against like the Germans.

    What about your kids, Petty?

Bitcoins....is catching speed. China has been buying up A LOT of the World's gold, fyi.

Also the currency they will use is the Asian dollar whatever that is. I will look for the full info on this tomorrow as I was made aware of this via a radio financial show discussion I listen to every Sunday...this meeting was when Obama went to Asia to discuss global finance with them and after a photo op was basically told to go back home.

I think shit like that is speculation, I can't see how a country so dependent on US consumership would act so flippant to its President. Sounds like some right wing nonsense they love to depict the President as someone that can't lead and isn't respected. I would love to see the video.
Bitcoins have been up and down I pay super close attention because it was my big chance of being really wealthy and I missed out on it. Beat myself up over it daily. A friend told me about them in 09 when they were 5 cents a coin they were up as much as 266 dollar a coin last week but sharply fell back below a hundred. The problem with them is the possibility that more sophisticated hackers could potentially make counterfeit coins at some point. Don't get me wrong they are doing great but most of it is based on with what's going on in Cypress with the banks.
And their is no Asian dollar as long as Japan is a major economy I don't see that happening anyway. They would have to form a union like the Eurozone and no one is going to want to that seeing all the trouble they have right now. Countries like Australia, and Russia are just sitting back and wiping their brow happy they aren't being dragged down into that shit storm. Poor Germany.

It was not a right wing show, Jesus I can distinguish between the two, it's a FINANCIAL show I listen to. He teaches FINANCE at Temple University and has a program on Air. The Summit was exactly discussing forming a union for the Asian dollar. Like I said, let me look into it and see if I can find the info online.

They also discuss Bitcoin which is where I first heard about it and yes hackers is a concern, but he said with the password requirement it makes it difficult, however if you lose that password your SOL, the coin is as good as gone. I know banks are nervous @ bitcoin.

yeah but they're pretty much safe for now because too many people are use to actual dollars. Going to a new currency overnight doesn't seem likely not to mention the hacking problem. Your passwords are always vulnerable to spyware that records keystrokes and if their is money involved you better believe that shit will becoming crazy sophisticated overnight. It's going to be interesting to see if does take root. We're better off going back to gold and silver enough with all the bs. Its far safer for everyone.

This thread makes me think about Wesley Snipes.

He didn't just go to jail for not paying his taxes (millions of Americans don't), he went because he was getting involved in the anti-IRS movement.

Many people think forced taxes aren't constitutional at all
