I squat 3 times per week, but what exactly do you mean? Mixing front and back squats? I do that and add goblet squats so I get a mix of heavy and light...strength and endurance. Or do you mean heavy back squats 3 times per week? I don't believe in that based on recovery. But that is just me.

Heavy back squats, olympic style. I've competed in powerlifting, it's just mental toughness at that point ;)

I do want to play around with overhead squats and front squats for flexibility, but I'm just going to do back squats 3x a week, decrease the frequency something like

    Tues - 3x6 - 70-75% 1RM
    Thurs - 3x6 - 80% 1RM
    Sat - 3x3 or 3x1 (not sure yet) 90% 1RM

I think that will work, but do you deload every 5 to 6 weeks? I think that will be imperative for that regimen. I did a PHAT regimen for a long time similar to that thinking, I pulled my hamstring so bad, I actually tore a piece of bone out, 8 months later, I'm still not fully healed, so listen to your body carefully when u do a 3 squat program. Granted, I'm way older than you, but the deload will still be imperative for you on that program. Add swimming etc 1 time per week would be great for those muscles in that regimen.

Btw, don't frown on front or overhead, they will increase your back squat lb, truly.

Ha I actually known the creator of PHAT for years. Met him a few years ago at the Arnold. Layne Norton.

Also yes I know OH squats and fronts beast legs. Trained w/ oly weightlifters. My best front squat has been 315. I wish I could do crazy OH squats though. If only I found an olympic weightlifting facility.

    I will be careful :) <3

Cool, lol. Once I have really healed, I will go back on PHAT as I truly believe in it, I just need to make hella sure I deload properly, which I didn't do, neither did I do the swimming that is adviced. Bummer. Add swimming, serial.

Yes, order ayurvedic mustard bath from amazon. You WILL love it. Honest. I have a foam roller and I do myofacsial release on the regular. Hurt like a bitch, but oh, so great. Do you have a baseball to use under your scapulas? Its awesome!

This sh*t is cray, but not terrible. I felt great today. My work sets went up to 335x6x3 today. Probably will be 385-405 for sets of 3 by the end of this week.

I get compliments on my legs/ass lol. Girls notice...

I got a short torso, long legs. I'm a much more effective high bar squatter than low bar. I also own some olympic weightlifting shoes.
