Indeed inmates are very crafty and if they would put that brain power to good use America would be leading in sciences/engineering and inventions,I was watching something on prisons and dude cooked a cheese sandwich with a iron it.that was some good shit there. The things they do.

    A Unique Job

The job ain't for everyone I will tell you that. I have learned a lot about gangs, the streets, and breaking the law. I picked up slang and can read people like no ones buisness.

I could tell stories for years on the shit I have witnessed. A key concept with this job is knowing who I am inside and out. There are games and then there are realities.

To each his own. I don't judge but I am real aware of everything around me.....:)

    lmao

Denzel smoked a cheese sammich with an iron in He Got Game

i seen someone else do that before too

    it's pretty intuitive

but u know i grew up in the projects so..i did shit like wash my clothes for the week in bathtubs, urinated in sinks, turned ramen noodles into a 5-course meal, etc

oh lets not forget hanging my clothes up INSIDE the house with lines and hangers

anyone who grew up in the PJs with exposed heat pipes know that drill

Like others have already said, there is nothing new or shocking about any of that crap. It's been going on for a long time and will continue until the end of friggin' time. I worked as a correctional officer for a couple of years way back when, and like the others who've had that experience, I've seen all kinds of crazy shit. Prisoners have nothing but time on their hands, so they get pretty creative. Some of them also have nothing to lose, so they're not afraid to do whatever the hell they want to do.

There are also a lot of stupid and/or crooked officers that get themselves tangled up with the inmates and their bullshit.

    LMAO...you're so damned crazy.

FYI, I didn't work with female inmates (and if I ever decide to be a CO again, I never will); I worked with men. I never had to discipline them in that manner...they generally behaved pretty well for me.

    cant be that bad

coming from a man tho, i think it makes my life better when there's females around..even if they are telling you what to do or whatever

gives us something to look at and I think women naturally put men more at ease. kinda like looking at the whole man/woman dynamic through a twisted lens

    You definitely have a point.

In many respects, being a female officer was an advantage in the men's prison. Of course there are the chicken-chokers you have to deal with, but for the most part I had few problems with the inmates (it was typically the assholes I worked with/for that were the biggest problem). Other than the women stupid enough to get personally involved, many female CO's do work well with male inmates.

A lot of the male officers I worked with were on some kind of power trip, and they tended to get sucked into that one upmanship crap too easily. It was always pathetic to watch. It did make me laugh though.
