Orleans Parish Prison VIDEO: New Orleans Inmates Do Drugs, Gamble, Brandish Gun In Recording

A shocking video released in court Tuesday appears to show New Orleans inmates brazenly doing cocaine and heroin on camera, gambling and even brandishing a gun -- all while behind bars.

That is true. I worked as a corrections officer once. They make zip guns out of pens and toilet paper rollers. All they need is one bullet. They can make a crude form of mace using a handfull of laundry detergent and urine. They can make a rope by wetting an entire roll of toilet paper and twisting it into a rope that can also be used to strangle a person. And let's not forget shanks.

    Convicts

I also have been working among those deemed not able to function in society and the shit I have seen has been astonishing.....I worked in a maximum security prison for years and observed things a grown man will never see in his lifetime.

I have seen and walked among some of the coldest hardened beings surfaced on this planet. I have witnessed officers bring in drugs, guns, and be sexually active with these fellas.

I have been in riots, seen grown men having intercourse with each other, cut thier penises off, and stab one another. The shit is no joke.

I have strip searched females who had glass pipes and meth stored up inside thier va jay-jay for weeks at a time....for as much as I hate to say it, there are some smart motha fuckers locked up. They got the time...:smt070

I had seen a few fights between inmates. I recalled an inmate getting shot and killed while trying to escape. I worked at Florida State Prison. I was only there for seven or eight months before I resigned.

When I was robbed at gunpoint by five black kids and assaulted, it took me a while to try and reclaim what they had taken from me. I switched my major from communications to criminology. I wanted to be a cop and make sure no one went through what I had been through. But, I ended up in corrections. I was waiting for the chance to cross-train from corrections to law enforcement. But it was not to be. I remember my sergeant's words to me on the day I resigned,"You will never forget your time here. This place has become your Vietnam." If it wasn't the inmates, you had your fellow officers to worry about. A lot of whom are passionate about the job and would gladly throw you under a bus to "maintain the integrity" of the job and the institution.

There was a female C.O. a few years back selling her "waffles" to inmates at Sing Sing. She even let one of them raise a pack of kittens in there

Inmates are like urban magicians. The level of their creativness rivals a team of Nasa scientist trying to get a shuttle full astronuts home with duct tap, tin foil and floss.

You my dear are fawking hot. I want to thank you for sharing. My father was in corrections, and I have provided outside service to certain facilities & at quick glance you are good at what you do. Very thorough, that could come in handy:smt110

They truly are. Some of the things I've heard when they come home, smh...it's crazy. My one acquaintance made almost $2,000 in during a 10-month stretch selling pruno. Smh. Won't work when he's free, but can generate income while incarcerated

be surprised what groups of people can think up when they got nothing but time on their hands

you read about how our creativity dies out as we get older, because we get slotted into working jobs for the bulk of waking hours and following boring routines with the remaining time we have left

these guys..they have no jobs..they either lift until they hulk the fuck out, plot on which nuc to kill, or think about some shit to create
