Guardians should be dope. The jury's still out on Ant-Man, though. When I saw them reintroduce him in the last run of the Defenders (yep, still reading them) I was like "groan...not him again..." lol. I'd like to see Guardians, the Inhumans/Eternals and Namor.

John Singleton was also attached to be director for a Luke Cage movie when talks were going on in the late 90's & early 2000's. Word was he was trying to get Tyrese Gibson to play the role if he was given the green light. Writer/ director Ben Ramsey was the last person that any serious buzz on a Luke Cage movie was circulating about due to a screenplay treatment he has going around to show his interest in doing the movie a few years ago. I don't get why Ray Park gets thrown out as a potential Iron Fist all the time all over the net. The dude can't act worth shit & his martial arts and acrobatic skills alone wouldn't be able to get him by as a main character. Plus he's too old for Iron Fist. Danny Rand/Iron Fist is in his early to mid 20's.

The Inhumans & Namor could be characters that can be introduced in a Fantastic Four movie if Marvel gets the rights back, since they were all introduced in the Fantastic Four, or rather Namor was re-introduced into the Marvel Universe, since he's been around in comics since the 1930's.

For those who loved Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel series & hated the Twilight movies, this may be more to your liking:

Those were two of the all time best sci-fi/fantasy TV series. Wouldn't mind if Joss Whedon did a big screen wrap up/update of both sort of like he did with Firefly/Serenity, but that probably won't happen. All the "unofficial" adventures for both series take place over in Dark Horse comic series where he licensed the characters out.

Yeah, the forbidden love story angle was kinda sappy at times, but the overall stories & action made up for it IMO.

Am I the only one who desperately wished for a Blade Buffy movie. That shit would have been dope. With Whedon working for marvel that shit is highly probable

I don't know about all that. Whedon owns his Buffy characters as far as I know or at least has say over how they are handle. Like I mentioned in the post before, Dark Horse comics currently has the license to do the Buffy & Angel characters in comic form, so unless that license has expired Marvel can't use the characters in any way ,even with Whedon himself working for them.

On the Blade front, if they ever decide to resurrect or reboot the franchise they need to redo the whole Dracula/Nightstalkers take compared to what was put on screen in Blade Trinity. Blade had his start in Marvel's Dracula comics, so it's a no brainer their encountering one another & being enemies. Plus redo the Nightstalkers as the Van Helsing vampire slayers from the actual Dracula comics which did have Ryan Reynolds' Hannibal King character as a member as well as the grandson of Abraham Van Helsing & great grandaughter of Jonathan & Mina Harker from the Dracula novel.

I used to read The Tomb Of Dracula when I was little. That could be a good movie as long as they don't try and make it like the 80s show Dracula: The Series. In the comic, Dracula looked a little bit like Doctor Strange. I'm surprised a big screen adaptation was not even discussed. There was only one tv movie in 1979. Actor Peter Hooten played Steven Strange.

Dracula in Bram Stoker's novel was described as having a moustache and white hair. Stoker obviously borrowed not just the name of Vlad Tepes, the real Dracula, but his look. He just made his character's hair white to show that he had some age. I think the visual they used in the comic was a nod to that plus the standard Lugosi look that became the accepted look for Dracula.

There has been and currently are plans for a Doctor Strange movie from Marvel as part of their Phase 2/Phase 3 plans to roll out characters from the Marvel Universe.

What does comic form have to do with movie form?

Damn I can see the story in my head right now and that shit would be awesome

Marvel/Disney doesn't have the rights/license to the characters, so they can't make a movie with the characters. It's the same reason Marvel can't make any movies with other properties they don't have the rights/license to. It's why they can't make any movies with the Marvel characters like the Fantastic Four or X-Men because they are licensed out to 20th Century Fox & Spider-Man to Sony. If Joss Whedon had went to Marvel Comics and given them the license to do Buffy & Angel comics then it wouldn't be a problem.

So the license covers all forms of the character?

That would be dope. Or if they had figured out a way to squeeze a side story about the Invaders in to the Captain America movie.

Back in the day when Marvel was semi-broke they sold the MOVIE rights to several of their characters, so they could make a few extra bucks. That was long before the current superhero movie boom. They got the rights to a lot of their characters back. But Sony and Fox realized the cash cow that Comic book movies are, so they keep renewing their option to make more Spiderman and X-men movies. It's why they keep popping them out every 3-4 years.

Interesting but I wonder if that goes for Buffy and Blade. Like I said that would be an awesome movie.

Yes. It's a form of ownership for character usage. Example : Way back in the 70's Marvel Comics had the license to do Star Wars comics and did so up until the early 1990's when they stopped doing license for non Marvel related characters & properties. That meant that no one else was allow to do any Star Wars comics other than Marvel. Once Marvel stopped doing license of non Marvel properties that allowed another comic company to come in and do it. Now that Disney has owner ship of both Marvel & the Star Wars properties, they will more than likely buy the license for Star Wars comics from Dark Horse Comics, the company that took over from Marvel when they stopped or will not re-new the comic license rights with Dark Horse whenever it expires.
