I hadn't realized that he was convicted on misdemeanor tax evasion. Three years for a misdemeanor is overboard, they were clearly making an example out of him.

I think he was here in Upsate PA. But it was a cushy jail for white collar crimes.

They did so because he flouted it in their face. Loudly and often that he doesn't have to pay taxes. And like the Govt likes to do, they will shut you up/abuse their powers by any means necessary. This was an easy one for them, though.

They took my favorite black action hero,.... who probably had a little to much to say,.......and made an example out of his ass......I am glad is out and I bet he will make a bigger splash back into movies that Eddie Murphy....

He was held in Allenwood Federal Prison in Pennsylvania. The title is just a tongue-in-cheek reference to the prison movie Shawshank Redemption.

Out of jail and now he'll be doing D-grade action flicks. His mojo ended a long time ago.

When there is life, there is hope. There is still a Shawshank redemption somewhere. I am happy for him.

Wesley Snipes had finished filming a trilogy called Gallows Walker in South Africa before going to Club Fed. He even had permission from the judge to finish the project. The question now is will it get a theatrical release, or go directly to dvd? But, he has not made a major film since Blade : Trinity. After that, he made movies in Europe and Canada with his company Amen Ra. I am glad he is out.
