Can't live W/O my funk music!

The was also an extended version of Dazz by Brick. I also like Ray, Goodman & Brown's Special Lady and Shining Star by The Manhattans. Cool grooves. And then there is Ambrosia. I remember that group got a lot of spin on black radio stations back in the 80s. I didn't know that they were a white band. But, it wasn't a big shock because they sounded great.

 

The Funk Show last Saturday featured two members of the Temptations who died last month.

 

Who were they? Were they the original members or new members?

 

Otis "Damon" Harris. Did a tribute post in Feb..

 

BTW Donald Byrd also died last month. I loved him/his music, having discovered him in my late teens via my much older boyfriend's record collection.

Never got around to throwing up some tribute songs, but this one I used to listen to loud and often.

On the Funk Show yesterday it had honored one of the founders of Smokey Robinson and the Miricles. It brought a lot of memories.

 

You know who else died I found out last night that has just died?

Bobby Smith, lead singer of The Spinners. He was 76. We are losing all the pioneers of that era
