I'm hearing that the World Body of the Olympic games are considering on removing Wrestling from the games. A sport that been with the games from the beginning. A game that came out of the ancient Pankration (The First Mixed Martial Arts) that consisted on boxing, grappling, and kick fighting before the split into separate sports in the Western World. I cannot believe this. Again, another attempt to limit or remove the combat sports from world competition. Boxing you hardly see now in the games. Now wrestling is going to take the hit. With football becoming feminized and other manly sports, I guess it's the sign of the time in ending masculine sports for a gender neutral world I guess.

I don't get why they would even think about removing wrestling from the Olympics,a sport that has existed long before the first Olympics.Being a former wrestler, I can't believe this.

everything these days is about ratings, and the olympics aren't exempt

most people don't understand wrestling at all and don't really respect grappling arts in general so they don't really watch it (that's why you'd never see jiu-jitsu in the olympics)

that's what i would assume would be the reason anyway...

like everyone is saying tho, wrestling has been a staple of competition since god knows when

when I think of the olympics, i think about ancient greece, the Colosseum, and wrestlers laying each other out

but...you don't see them trying to pull track and field events out that mothafucka, because that's what everyone watches

Don't be mad slow poke lol

I don't get why it has to make ratings higher. Shit like curling gets to stay in so I don't see why wrestling should get the ax

from what i gather, there arent enough spots for all the sports..so they're trying to see what stays and what doesn't

    it's all a popularity contest
