HELLO! Hence WE have to do better than this. Implying for ourselves. Never once did I saw y'all. WE. I am a black man, and far from perfect. Which is why I became sad. There are those of us that don't even recognize doing something like that works against you in an already unbalanced job market. Thank you Bliss for taking what I said for what is was worth, without taking an unnecessary dig at me.
Not taking sides here, but my knee-jerk reaction to the guy looking for a job would've been the same because it was clear that he had no idea how his appearance affected his hiring potential in that company. Just like going for a professional interview in jeans & a t-shirt, unshaven & with bedhead. There is a certain etiquette required. HR newsletters are full of anecdotes about people who do things that, to many of us, would be a head-scratcher. I didn't see it as that the OP was ridiculing the guy for trying to better himself.
But no, I'm putting down brothers because I want to be accepted as the non-threatening black man. But hey, then what about my 100% black child? I guess I love her less than my son according to some of the theories posted on this thread. :smt102
No, there was no story to begin with. Just a commentary on people doing dumb sh*t like this, and expecting to secure gainful employment. Not every post is intended to be a master's thesis or doctoral disertation. It's really not that serious.
someone tell that dude that no one will vote for a man with busted shoes. what? Im not being shallow....
one of the candidates for Pitts. mayor to do list...guess which one 1) get the suit out the cleaners....done 2) go to atm machine.................done 3) get hair touched up..............done 4) get shoes out the trash......done 5) get facial done at ex-girlfriends salon......done ready for debate
didn't read the entire thread (bickering & stuff), but let it be known, "brothas" ain't the only ones who get facial/neck tattoos. Most of us are in fact doing better than this.. That being said, it's just another bad choice that parents should warn their kids about. Young people don't always think about the future when they're trying to define themselves. I see a few guys around here with their girlfriend's name tattooed on their necks. Then there are the women with the stars behind their ears. The height of fashion today, in the future, not so much. Permanent bell-bottoms. "Genius" likely had no direction at all, other than his homies. "Genius" -- that's some ironic shit there... right on his forehead. Whoever did that tattoo for him likely had a good laugh, even if it's a prison tattoo Tattoos are cool if they're meaningful, but be sure you can cover them if need be. This guy's not even a smart "gangsta" because he's made it so easy to identify him.
