I'm still against it. I'd rather allow the individuals who were victims of this to handle it themselves. If they decide to execute the person, then do so, but not by state taxpayers.

Or, perform a forced lobotomy on the individuals and "reprogram" their thought process and make them part of society again and they'll learn to develop the necessary skills to keep them out of harm or do harm to others.

LOL at all the Black men on here in favor of the death penalty.

I only had to read about ONE innocent BM wrongly executed under death penalty statutes and ever since I've been in favor of lifetime solitary confinement for life over execution.

I wonder why it is that so many European nations that had hundreds of thousands of their citizen die during WW2 are opposed to the death penalty, but so many Americans believe in executing criminals??

I agree, too many men have been executed to be later found innocent. One is too many. I also feel that the greater punishment is life in prison without the chance of parole. Death seems like an easy way out.

Sounds good to me. If someone violates a child in my family, put me in a locked cage with him and charge people to watch. I will even have the money set up to go to your favorite charity.

It is nice to know that some people still believe in the dignity of manhood.

Science is improving continuously, and if a person is found guilty of a heinous crime and it's backed up by unequivocally solid DNA evidence, then I see no reason not to execute a serial killer, child abuser, rapists, or other basic dregs of society.

Those people cannot be fixed. They shouldn't be allowed to live where they could potentially escape from jail and cause more mayhem, IMHO.

Killing the convicted has nothing to do with manhood, caveman.
Where the fuck did that even come from??:smt101

You really need to research the Nuremberg trials following the end of WW2 and read the legal opinions written during those proceedings.

Murder is murder is murder, no matter who's doing it.

The death penalty is entirely about REVENGE. Not justice. Unfortunately killing a murderer doesn't bring closure. It's just another meaningless death that satisfies the bloodlust of the grieving and the outraged.

There are dozens if not hundreds of people on death row who were put there without the benefit of irrefutable DNA evidence to convict them.

It's mistaken to believe that individuals convicted of first degree murder in general have a mountain of evidence to justify their conviction.

THe man in jail for the Sandra Levy intern murder in D.C. is in prison based on no physical evidence whatsoever. He was convicted on the word of a fellow inmate who law enforcement said was told by the alleged murderer that he killed Levy. That's it. That's the entire prosecution case.

    The death penalty is shady.

You know its possible to plant and falsify dna right?

Thats why I think exhile is the better option. Theyre removed from society and they get to live.

So your solution is to send a potentially innocent victim of our judicial system to a deserted island to run freely with men and women who are the scum of the Earth? So he/she can be murdered there? Or starve to death?

    Lord of the Flies, anyone?

    That's not a solution either.

Like I said it can be regulated with armed guards and womem would be kept on completely seperate island with female guards. Zero chance of pregnancy tjese people shouldnt reproduce. To me its way better than being executed by the state for shit you didnt do

OMG! This is an even worse idea. Armed guards? Are you crazy?

How much crap happens in prison with armed guards? And you want to send them on a deserted island with psychopaths that are allowed to basically run free?

They'll be overpowered within a week. Then the bad guys have guns and can kill others at random.

It still doesn't solve the INNOCENT PEOPLE ON DEATH ROW problem.

You gonna pay what men to be on an island with a bunch of dudes. lmfao, what are you drinking?

You both have the wrong idea. First off there would be less of a chance of ober powering the guards since theyd be so few in numbers. Secondly their living quarterds would be very much like what it is now but theyd work the land for eight hours a day. Cultivating their own food instead of just toiling in a yard. And if you think you wont find dudes willing to guard them youre buggin. They could comission the national guard for shit like that.

Yeah, but they aren't "normal" thinking individuals. You are putting a lot of stock in them following the rules, when they didn't follow the rules when they were out in society.

It will not end well for the guards. Nor will it end well for anyone who is innocent, which you have yet to address.

Your solution doesn't solve anything. It just puts innocent people in as much danger as them being on death row. Only now they have the potential to be ganged up on by multiple psychopaths, in your scenario.

Key word here is willing, the national guard just follows orders. Few in numbers? Since when do guards out number the prisoners, sounds like a waste of tax payer money. Damn we are never going to reduce the debt. Time to buy a house before interest rates go up!

What debt? That shit is an illusion. Simple logic is if I have all the weapons and you think youre gonna demand anything from me think again. But I digress, one guard with a semi auto rifle with rubber bullets and tear gas for every ten prisoners sounds like it would suffice to me. Buy that house fam its a good time to buy.

There are three sources of power economic, political, and military. They ALL matter! If it was all about weapons, Britain, France and Spain would have never outlawed international slave trade. They would have just killed each other like dumb asses. On another note, these prisions here are guarded with real bullets, they would have to do the same on an island!
