http://www.tmz.com/2013/03/05/rappe...-bizzy-bone-the-game-jim-jones-daz-dillinger/ I think this is hilariously smart!
Funny, When you make it rain you are saying you got it like that. If you are concerned with writing it off on your taxes then mabe you don't really have it like that. If you are in a 30% tax bracket, you are saving 30 cents on a dollar by deducting the "rain funds" from your taxable income. I much rather keep the additional 70 cents on the dollar by not making it rain in the first place. Saying it is an necessary expense is a silly position to take but ohh well it is their money.
The man has to do what he has to do to fix the mistakes he made, but if he continue to make it rain the next time he does a show then he is just being dumb. Relax Jim, we know you can't afford this now, you have defeated the purpose.
To be honest, I can actually see where the rappers are coming from with this. Very seldom does money that is donated or even from the government ACTUALLY reaches the people it is intended to serve. If you look at most charities, sometimes up to 95% percent of what is donated goes to "operational" costs. That leaves 6 cents on every dollar that is donated going to the intended persons. Women, be she a stripper or not, only gets up to 74% of the wages that men get. Her salary for the same position and doing the same job as men is almost never comparable. In my hometown, Detroit, a major city that is now on the verge of bankruptcy, has an unemployment rate of over 25%. Many of the young women with kids have told me they "LOVE" when those rappers make it rain. They have paid their rent, grocery bill, transportation, etc. with that money and wouldn't have been able to otherwise. Recently, that rapper Drake made it rain $50,000 in one dollar bills. There was so much money everywhere that it carpeted the floor. My niece and a few of her friends had dollar bills bulging from everywhere. I thought making it "rain" was stupid to until I saw it from the other side.
I remember being in a club in Downtown Atlanta when Jim Jones showed up later that night and made it rain. There were plenty other people there that paid a cover charge to get in just like I did and they were throwing 20 dollar bills in the air. Ha Ha! Until now I did not know some people considered that a charity event. Turns out that charity event was a good place to get drunk and meet some ass.
Less than a mile away from where I live is a hip-hop themed strip club called King Of Diamonds. This place is huge. It is like a circus. It even has a heli-pad. A lot of hip-hop artists, rappers , pro athletes and others come here. They even have auto detailing and a basketball court. It would not surprise me if they have barbeque there. Some club do have a barbeque grill set up in the parking lot. It was the home of dancer Tip Drill. She and a few others make well over $3,000.00 in tips a night. Of course, the guy who runs the club gets his cut.
Making it rain seems to be more of an image thing than a want, so I'm not mad at them. I think even if they had trillions, they still should treat their money right, that's how money begets more money.
What a waist... In 5 years he'll be broke and bankrupt. Why not make it rain as a Venture Capitalist and fund an invention or business. Why black folks gotta throw their money away the first chance they get? People may trash 50 Cent but he's a Venture Capitalist and doing the damn thing. As black folks we have to start thinking smarter or we will continue to not be taken seriously with social issues.
My goodness, how rappers have fallen. Maybe not $wise, but what they repped to what they rep now.. it's gone to pot. Can't they donate that money to charities that feed the poor instead of strippers?, then they wouldn't have to be fighting the IRS to prove they are 'being charitable'. I'll bet one crisp dollar bill that that most of that rain money goes toward living it up for these strippers.
When I seen Jim Jones and others making it rain it was not in strip clubs. At best making it rain seems more like a show and tell celebration of success more than anything, albeit a stupid one if they can't afford it.
