The elderly should own multiple guns. At least one for every room in the house. You can never be too safe.:smt109
It's asinine for anyone to suggest to the key factor for improving the safety of elderly people is giving them guns. The number 1 cause of death for seniors, other than dying(!), I believe is from accidental falls. Not homicides from home break ins.
Good for him. It's better than being carried by six. Self defense (armed and unarmed) is a human right.
It would be nice if just once...ONCE.....just to prove you're not on some "Black People Ain't Shit" crusade, that you posted a story with a white male doing something stupid and a black person being the victim & stopping them. But of course in your world that shit doesn't exist. Because you know us black folks. Always fucking up...........
You are no messenger because you are not delivering any messages. You are however an agent of keeping a certain negative image of black male forever in the spotlight & not offering up any way to change that negative image. Fucked up to say the least for any person to be doing especially a black male.....
then a fair and equitable economy based on merit without racism needs to be created because with unemployment rate twice that of the nation average and quadruple that of wm what do you expect. Its the same thing every where. The poorest and most disenfranchised do shit like this its not new. I'm not shying away from personal responsibility but acting as if its just a failure of moral fiber adds to the bs thought memes that continue to make shit bad for everyone not just blacks.
Here's some advice. When you stop just limiting those crimes to just black people, because every other race does the same shit, especially the poor and disenfranchised, then your "advice" will have some merit. Until then your "advice" is nothing but toilet paper.
Clearly you are the one putting your head in the sand. No one else here or anywhere for that matter are putting their heads in the sand. Most of us with common sense & actually don't live in a bubble know far better than you (and others like you) that "personal responsibility" alone will not fix the problems because lack of "personal responsibility" is not the sole factor that lead to the current state of the black community. The black community didn't get broken due to one simple factor, so why is it that you seem to think one single factor will fix it? The very fact that you only want to focus on that one thing as the fix all shows just how ignorant you are to how complex the problem is and that you clearly don't have an interest in solving any of the problems to make things better. Your only interest is in placing blame. Hence why you keep trying to paint anyone not co-sign with your "personal responsibility" plan as putting their heads in the sand and why you keep posting multiple threads focusing on negative bullshit involving black people.
What I like about this story is that he rounded them up and called the police. He didn't shoot them, when he could have easily, and been within his rights to. The fact that one returned with his father to apologize...nice. Hopefully he learned a huge life lesson. Great ending.
Deputies: Covington woman shot at intruder in her home Updated: Mar 05, 2013 Written by: Kristen Soroe Covington, La. – St. Tammany deputies say a Covington woman fired a shotgun at an intruder in her home. Deputies say the woman, who lives in the Covington Country Club subdivision, woke up around 1:40 Tuesday morning to find an armed man in her bedroom doorway. Deputies identify the man as Joseph Hall Rogers of Covington. Rogers allegedly pointed a gun at the woman, who began screaming. Deputies say he then left the bedroom doorway while the woman got a shotgun from her closet. After checking on her children, deputies say, the woman forced Rogers out of her home. Once at the doorway of her home, they say the woman fired three rounds in Rogers' direction, but he was not hit. Investigators say they later found Rogers intoxicated. They say he resisted arrest and deputies had to tase him. Rogers was booked with home invasion and resisting an officer. His bond has not yet been set. Investigators say they cleared the woman of any possible charges in the incident. :smt023
That dude was lucky! Some people don't realize you can still miss with a shotgun. Honestly a 20 guage is all you need, with twice the power of a 44 mag, it will do the trick. No sense in blowing with a 12 guage if the recoil presents a problem.
