My girl Ronda Rousey(Arm bar specialist) does it again...she whoop Liz Camouche ass That's pretty gurl!!
Props to both of those women for the fight. Carmouche had her in DEEP trouble early on and it shows her BJJ is on point. Still, Rowdy Ronda FTW with the armbar.
Oh and BTW the Machida/Hendo fight was not boring. Machida was just being Machida and Hendo couldn't close the distance.
I like how Mark Hunt just walks away after knocking him down. His post fight interviews are hilarious also..
I don't know anything about MMA, are the fights somewhat stagaed like wrestling? Or is it closer to the style of boxing matches, more authentic? (I would say closer to boxing, from what little i have watch on tv, it doesn't look theatrical, and it's invloves martial arts and boxing, etc).
Not staged. It's ruled like boxing at least for now. There are rules such as no soccer kicks to a grounded opponent, no eye gouging, no groin shots, etc. It's a legitimate sport.
BJ Penn jumps out of 3 feet of water These guys are REAL atheletes. Tell me if you ever seen anyone do this before.
boxing alone is very athletic.... now factor in grappling/wrestling and you have probably the most athletic people around you need the cardio to box/standup, but then you need a very good strength/weight ratio to dominate people with wrestling/take down defense it helps when you're the strongest guy in your class, pound for pound
If Georges takes Nick lightly we will have a new champion at 170 lbs. Besides the title bout and the co-main event, overall I can't say I'm excited about this card. How much should I care to see Nick Ring and Rick Story again? Spare us UFC. Anthony Johnson is fighting Andrei Arlovski on the 23rd. The WSOF 2 card has a lot of old time favorites - Aaron Simpson vs Josh Burkman, David Branch vs Paulo Filho, etc.
I forgot Makdessi was the guy who landed that perfect spinning backfist KO on the undercard for Pierre vs Shields.
