Drones for Civilian Use

I support the idea being fleshed out that local and state need to use this new technology for police and law enforcement. The technology behind drones is awesome. DARPA is working on insect size drones for survaillance. Imagine drones that can detect someone carrying a gun from miles up and GPS their position to police. Or drones that can follow a killer to his or her (have to be gender sensitive) hideout and take them out. Back on the insect size drones. Imagine the power of this technology to track every citiizen in this country thru their unique heat signatures or brain waves. The Rise of the Drones are here. We better get use to them.

 

You really want law enforcement to have the power to kill people remotely? Are you mad?
One thing to consider is the minute law enforcement has it so will gangs. Thats too scary to think about.

 

its a double edge sword. I will hope that it stays in the hands of the defense and police....but because of crooked people in the govt agencies and commercial agencies it is a good chance of getting in the hands of the bad guy.

The Mexican Mafia are already using drones as was reported last year when a pilotless plan was found smuggling drugs into the U.S. This is not the time to be naive. We already have an arms race with the criminals. Yes, lets go for it to stay ahead. We are in a new form of warfare whether its cyberwar or drone war. No time to bury our heads in the sand. I predict the day a drone from another country via Mexico will be sent into our country to take someone out. Who could have predicted this 60 years ago.

 

We're living in interesting times... Lot of worrying technology out there: drones, gene tech, nuclear proliferation, globalism and financial interconnectedness, internet sabotage.

If you're worried about the gangs getting drones you should be even more worried about the terrorists.

we're living in special times. the Maya pegged it as the end of an era and the start of a new one. I think they just about nailed it. The world is giving birth. The baby is making a slide...

It's gonna either go very very well, or very very badly.

It's scary times we live in...

 

Unless 99% of the human population gets wiped out, that ain't happening.

 

I honestly don't get how you can be excited about this development. Time and time again, governments: local, state, and federal, have proven that they have too much power and are not afraid to use it.

And to have this technology to use against its citizens just means that we'll be living in a police state. And that is NOT a democracy.

By the way, al jazeera english is damn good tv if you like documentaries and coverage of all the high drama going on in the world beyond the u.s. It's not what fox news might tell you it is. It's colorful, insightful programming on stories from every corner of the world. And they have some damn good looking female news anchors, with sweet accents (mostly british).

Again!! an introduction of martial law in America..Beware it's coming!! it's coming slowly!The goverment does what they want!

Major chaos... do you not think using warfare technology on your own citizens is some form of martial law,rumors of policing schools,rumors of concentration camps profited by big wig companies right here in Houston,Hell when i lived in Chicago,the mayor considered putting the military on their streets to curb the killings there and this was spoke of over 10 years ago...It's coming in some form martial law is coming to America and the talk of drones is just the beginning.

 

Very true. Been watching non stop doomsday prepper for hours and that seems to be a major concern for people, that and an economic collapse.

 

A lot people say Oh No that can't and won't happen here in America ....I don't know about... there is a nasty drastic change is coming and Americans better brace for it.

 

People have to stop living in denial. It's already happening.

Drones to put out forest fires.

Red light cameras.

Navigation systems and cell phones that can pinpoint your location.

Etc, etc, etc...

I sound paranoid, but that's how this stuff starts. It starts with little things and before you know it, we're living with martial law (all in keeping with "saving" us from ourselves).

 

With a dumbed down public, you can get away with anything.
